I just couldn't stay home today.  It was a very nice day at the land.  I combined turkey scouting, morel hunting, and checked out my new "eliminatick" pants.
Turkeys -  I saw two groups of 3 and a single.  I also put up my ground blind.

Morels -  Nada.  I'm afraid it may be a tough year.  It's warm enough for the ground cover to grow, but not warm enough for morels.  By the time they pop, you will not be able to find them.

Ticks - I bought a pair of pants called "Eliminatick".  Basically it has permerithernn (or what ever) imbedded in the fabric.  I have to say it did work.  Not near as many ticks were on the pants than if I just sprayed my jeans.  Also, only a few made it past my knees.  I just watched them and only a few made it past my knees (for all I know they started there).  At any rate, I did not have to flick off a single tick.  They all aborted on there own.

Grouse - I saw lots of grouse and could hear drumming most any time I stopped and listened.

Last Friday I stopped at the MDHA State Office in Grand Rapids.  They had the pants in their store.  It is called "Elimitick"  Tick-repelling clothing by Gamehide.  It has built in insect protection using "Permethrin".  After testing today, I'd say it works.
