Well where do I start?  Wildlife popped a couple of winners for the fishing challenge right away so our game plan was to go to the trout pond early and then move to another lake and see if we could pick up a trophy.  I met Wildlifeminnesota at his store in Perham.  The store is located right on the main drag.  If you get up that way be sure to stop in.  There is a bait shop right next door so this is a small clue as to why the guy always seems to know where the fish are biting.  The conditions were hot, still, and sticky.  We headed out to a local lake and fished it for a couple of hours.  I had a bite off but the Wild boated two 3 inch sunfish to officially hand me a beatdown.   The next morning we headed out to the local mall trout pond as GO wold call it.   (I have not fished trout since I was 10 or 11 years old).  It was fun.  We hit it for a couple of hours.  It seamed like everyone on the lake was getting a sore elbow from netting trout.  Our boat-not so much.  We had a couple of good hits and misses right away and then it was over.  A pattern started to develop at this point.  The fishing Gods have a really good sense of humor.  They have a particular fondness for the Wildlife.  Rain comes-Wildlife puts rain gear on.  Rain stops immediately.  After  awhile I realized the Wild can change the weather by just putting the rain gear on or taking it off.  The sky started looking worse so we decided to pull the boat before the access got to busy.  On to the next lake.

   Lake #2

We got to lake #2 at about 12:15pm.  There was very little breeze and the sky was cloudy.  We fished for about an hour before we got the first fish.  Just then the sun popped out and the pike started biting.  I was using an ATI-51 exclusively.  Wildlife was using a lindy rig.  I got the first 4 fish.  One was a nice 16" largemouth.  The bass were scarce on this day.  Water temps were hot.  With the surface temp near 80 degrees.  The small pike were on fire.  They hit hard and put up good fights.   Wildlife was getting hit with short strikers so he popped on a stinger hook and then we went one for one the rest of the day.  One fish, that hit Wildlifes line,  swam over and hit mine.  The silly fish tried to take on two Avengers at one time.  He spit Wildlife line at the boat and ended up on my line.  That turned out to be the biggest pike of the day coming in at 26".
Wildlife did have a big bass on.  I could see it clearly and tried to get a pic of it in the water.  It spit his bait.  It easily was going to be the 20 incher we needed.  Even Wildlife has a fish or two get off on occasion.  Tonight I will post the secret to his success.  You are not going to believe it.

Well here it is.  After about 14hrs on the water fishing with Wildlife I had to ask.  How do you seem to come up with the big fish every year?  His response was interesting.  Don't lie, don't cheat, and when your friends need help don't wait for them to ask.  Three years ago he just dropped out of the  fishing challenge.  That was when the tornado went through Wadena.  The Wildlife just grabbed his chain saw and was gone.  The lesson is the fishing Gods will test you.  If you pass the test you will be rewarded.  I saw it in action.  Right now because of choices he has made for others the guy can rub his hands together and the fishing Gods will send him a prize.  I saw it happen.  The first time  I saw it I said "no way".  What just happened?  "Can you do that again", I asked?  His response was perfect.  "I don't know".  "I sure will try as hard as I can".    The next one jumped out backwards.  They had a short chat and back in the drink.  So how can you compete with that?  It's easy.   Put in your time and remember the fishing gods have a sense of humor.   :happy1: :happy1: ;D

hm, I see one of my secret is out  ;) flying  :Fish: Boy I can't believe it you got that on   :Photography: of that not just one but two!!!

It was so much fun hooking up with a good friend and hitting the Lake, I will say we put a lot of fish in the boat, over 60 nice fish,  "The Avenger's" had a few good battle that was won and a few that did not go so good, But a real good time, We stop at a bait place close to the lake and pick up some big sucker was $5 buck a dozen and that was cheap, so we pick up two and end up with about 5 dozens that we use all but 5 less then a 1/2 of a dozens,  :dancinred: Boy calling getting your money worth,  we got back to the house are best friend's was there to see us but they (our Dog's) was all tried like us. one of DDS dog's I can't remember her name her and pug's got along good, and his other dog set with my wife all day and she not a dog lover, we set up and  :bs: a little more before call it a night, The next morning we all was up get thing together. I gave DDS a smoke trout for his ride back home, So how was it? In tell next time the fishing god;s will be with you, It's was so fun to see DDS face when the fishing god's gave him a fish,  :happy1: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

I have a few secret that I have lean over the year and one that DDS said that would be a good one to share with you all here,

with all the new law on water and how not to trans port it form lake to lake,, We all know to take all your plugs out of your boat But what about your bait bucket, It's 80 degrees out and the water is 80+ You just stop at the bait shop and spent $15 buck on bail and by the time you hit the lake they are  all dead and you got what you could have got for free behind the bait shop, now all you can say as you look in your dead bait in the bucket ( Fawkinnae)   :banghead: :banghead:

My next post I will share how you can save your bait and the word of Fawkinnae, with some easy and cheap way, To not let his happen to you,,,, and you will ever have to use lake water,  :happy1:

Get a 5 gal bucket and a flower bucket  put the two together fine a fish tank pump (I see these at sale all the time cheap, next you get a 12 vote converter now fill two to what room you have in your ice chest of 1 litter bottle of water and freeze them over night , put them in your ice chest and when you get to the bait shop bring your empty bucket in and they will put water in it as you put it back in your boat hook up your pump and add one litter bottle to your bucket. we had 5 dozes in this bucket for over 8 hour's and lost 0 in 80+ temp next try to keep in the shad if not put a coat over the top.  :happy1: we all so had some shiner in there that the guy a the bait shop say we could have,  :happy1: will good luck you all and  :happy1: fishing

The trout was fabulous.  Thank you very much.  What is the purpose of the second bucket?  Is it perforated or are you using it just for a cover?

The best part of Wildlife's  system is at the end of the day you drain your minnow bucket and you use the water from the bottle that has been slowly melting to get whats left of the minnows  home.  Easy way to comply with the new law and no lakewater was ever used.  I was amazed that we did not even lose a shiner in 80 heat all day.  :happy1: :happy1:

( perforated ) The hole proses of two bucket work the same as a Ice chest two wall's to keep colder longer,  :happy1:

drill two small holes in the top of the lid this will all so keep the air holes from being pinch and will save you from losing lid's at the end of your holes use a car vale that as a little weight to it, The other hole is to let the air out of the bucket.  Now I run this off the boat motor battery.

I have try the one you can buy (pump's) but all as not last more then one outing, junk!!!! fish tank pump's are the best and they are made to run 24 hour's and not get hot, You can replace the rubber boot's in them, look online or at a fish/pet store. But I have not had to replace mind,  ;D

glenn57 that is what mine are 110 V The converter plug in to a cigaret light,(cost 10 buck's) Which you can buy at a part store, NAP, there is just two wires + _ hook right to your battery,

cigaret light 12V +  converter + fish tanks  for 110v

The battery pack will not last, go with 12V  :happy1:

You are  ::welcome:: I all so use the converter in my truck, it come in hand camping or just on the road, I have use my laptop in my truck and downloaded some  :Photography: so I could take more,

converter is about $30 and cigaret light are $10 or less and most of us have a fish tank pump or know someone that dose, The air pump's that you see that made for this all run on D or C battery's and you will go throw them. cost $20 to $30 and will not last and are use just for one thing, That it and are cheap made!!! I when throw two of then in one week, the first one I took it back and they replace it the new one did the same thing so I came up with this and it been working for two + year now.

If you do not have  cigaret light. you can put it where you want. I put mine in one of the rod locker so it stay dry and dose not get hit. out of the way  :happy1:

The converter can be pick up a most of you bigger store Wallmart, all so a part store will have then fleet will, It's 12v to 110v converter,

20$  for a 400 watt inverter at Walmart.  They have many other uses so it is not a bad investment.
