The place to be is NoDak for you meat hunters,NoDak is starting this season with a 15 bird daily limit, and I think the season starts august 15th,but holy cow thats alot of meat, the biggest issue shooting honkers so early in the summer is keeping the meat from over heating and spoiling, might be best to breast'em out and have a couple of big coolers full of ice.

If anyone is interested I'll be posting up a bunch of steel shot 4 sale, mostly 3.5's in waterfowl loads,no longer shoot steel and I bet I'll have 400-500rds of .12ga and a few 100rds of .10ga ammo, duces,BB and BBB is whats left,I'll post pics when I get everything together, might even dig out a few dozen magnum mallard dekes with cord and weights, some brand new some barley used?strickiley field hunt these days. Then I have a couple of final approach lay outs, one is the guide series with flagging holes in "max-4D" blinds have been mudded since day one and in excellent condition.

Our 2012 season is bering down on us guyz, are you ready?

I have not checked the NoDak laws yet to varify this but I was told that the resedents get to hunt the deese two weeks before we can??

If that is true why waste your time and money going, those birds will be so spooky you will be lucky to get them to decoy.

Benny,

The locals from NoDak are all fired up about the early season opener,I can't get out there fast enough, they tell me the birds are using the cut wheat fields already, maybe your thinking of the regular season.

Further, south dakota is following suit~Hell, they are offering a place to donate the birds!!

PIERRE, S.D. – Unprecedented resident Canada  goose numbers have opened the door for waterfowl hunters to harvest 15 birds a during  the South Dakota September Canada Goose Season, and in the process, donate goose meat to the needy.
Hunters will be allowed to donate their birds to Sportsmen Against Hunger, free of charge, from Sept 1-21, through  a number of locker processors in the state.  For a full list of participating processors, visit: http://gfp.sd.gov/hunting/waterfowl/goose-SAH-donation.aspx
SDGFP is also encouraging experienced waterfowlers to take a new hunter out in the fields with them in September, by holding the "(Re)Introduce The Sport" giveaway.
Waterfowlers who take hunters with them, who have not held a South Dakota migratory bird certificate in 2011, will be eligible to win a Benelli Vinci shotgun or other prizes.
“Early goose seasons have warm weather, birds that decoy well and abundant access,” said SDGFP Wildlife Administration Chief Scott Simpson. These seasons are a  great opportunity to take a new hunter, or help a former waterfowler, re-connect with the sport”
To enter the contest, send an e-mail to: wildinfo@state.sd.us, with your name, city and phone number of both you and the new hunter and a photo of you and the new hunter in the field.
Hunters may enter once for every new hunter they take from Sept 1-30.
