:police: Bag limits proposed for Hubbard County's La Salle Lake

A proposal for new special fishing regulations on Hubbard County's La Salle Lake will be discussed from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Fern Township Hall located three-quarters of a mile west of Becida on Hubbard County Road 9.

Public input about the proposed special regulations will help DNR fisheries staff determine whether to adopt or modify the proposed regulation, which would place bag limits of two on walleye, five on crappie and sunfish, and 10 on yellow perch. Catch-and-release would be implemented for all bass.

La Salle Lake was in private ownership until fall 2011, when it became part of the newly created La Salle State Recreation Area.

People unable to attend the public input meeting may submit written comments to DNR Park Rapids Area Fisheries, 301 S Grove Ave., Park Rapids MN 56470. Comments also will be taken via email to doug.kingsley@state.mn.us or by phone at 218-732-4153. All comments must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28.

Comments about the La Salle Lake proposal also will be accepted during an open house from
8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at the DNR Central Office, 500 Lafayette Road, in St. Paul.
