Hey Bruno....I just got off the phone with someone in the area and this is what they told me. Now bare with me I dont know Leech so I don't know what they are talking about.

Walker bay Ice is good on the edges...stay away from the "hole" that everyone used to go to..The ice is pretty sketchy out there. He mentioned somethijng about Erickson's is a good place to go. Fiishing the sand in 8 - 12 has been good and the ice is good. Atv's Snowmoblies is the way to go. Has seen some people driving but staying close to shore, he didn't recommend it. Sorry...not the best info but at least it is something. He did say that the fishing was awesome!

This is almost a week old but is worthy of some info.

LEECH LAKE – Anderson’s Resorts, Tim (1-800-516-0077) Leech is producing some nice fish and lots of small walleyes (10 to 13 inches). Sand Point and Walker Bay are the best. Shingobee Bay is producing nice panfish as well as Boy Bay behind Bear Island. 4 wheelers are the way to go. Ice is good but we could use a couple more inches.

I am prety sure the off shore structure in walker bay would be sketchy.
the 34 foot humps are out in the middle surrounded by 90 FOW.
not the place I want to drop in.
there is alot of places to fish around the shoreline, and my guess is the hump out in front of shingobee island is going to be good to go.
we caught some nice fish there during the summer.
I have to go pick up my son in walker on tuesday so I think I will be getting there early and stopping by the bait shop to get the lowdown before I head out to kick some walleye but!
you can bet I will give that lake the respect it deserves. I dont want to make the papers the hard way!
take a kid hunting and fishing!!

A friend got back from sand point a few days ago. Had real good luck with shiners on tip ups for northern. Some nice fish too.

Thanks fellas, I am familiar with the bay and I appreciated the update on the ice.  If any thing good happens up there I will send down the report.

Found plenty of eatable sunnies in Shingobee Bay this past weekend and also tangled with a 3lb large mouth which was kind of fun.  Perch were biting around sand point during mid-day. There were plenty of Northerns being speared in Shingobee Bay as well.

Weather was cold, -15 on Monday.
