After literally thousands of pics taken by a dozen trail cameras, I FINALLY see a deer I can set my heart on this season!

You mean like these ones?  The 3rd and 5th ones below would be real hard to pass.  Then again, that's one of the advantages of party hunting;D  Some people think party hunting is unethical, but it is legal in MN.  Funny how many of these same folks have no qualms whatsoever about baiting though...

Only one problem about that scenario.  If the one I want is big enough to be a record buck (that is, scores high enough to officially make the B&C record book) it HAS to be the first deer I shoot.  Any bucks taken after you shoot your first in states where party hunting is legal are not considered for Boone and Crockett.  They are null and void.  I find that amusing since they allow anything taken over a bait pile.  In other words, you could shoot a world record buck eating on a pile of corn in Wisconsin and make the official book, but if you take a "meat deer" that happens to have antlers and then shoot a world record in MN....they will not recognize it.  This is because the folks that oversee the Boone and Crockett rules committee consider party hunting unethical, but not baiting.  Sorry for the rant, but I'm just pointing out that I may have to pass on those if I want to make the books.  World record it is not, but 160+ it might possibly be if scored as a nontypical.  Hard as it may be, I just might have to pass on these.  The best scenario would be to get the one I want opening morning.  After that, #3 and #5 are toast if they come across my scope.

By the way, I might want to add one tidbit of info on these pics.  These are taken over a mock scrape that I made using Jackie's Mock Scrape powder and licking branch scent.  Stuff works pretty good.  Used it last year too with very good results.

The camera research was something I did just to satisfy my own curiosity.  I decided to post the results since I figured "why not share what I learn with others?"  I'm glad people are getting something out of it.
