Yeah Lentz I miss Gander Mt. too. I spent a lot of time there. Fleet Farm over in Osseo/Brooklyn Park has become my replacement I guess, and I haven't figured out where the next closest Gander Mt. is - maybe Eden Prairie.

Lentz I will have them ready before the ice gets here.  I started doing ice lures last weekend.  I have a new one that is sure to put fish on the ice for you.  As far as stores go JB lures used to have an outlet store right next to the Osseo fleet farm.  I never went in there but have heard others say they got some good deals there.  If I remember they were only open a couple of days a week.  On occasion I will buy some emergency supplies from Thorne Brothers.  They are way over priced for me but they have a little of everything and their sales people know what they are talking about.  The hot lure for this year will be the ATI-51.  It comes in all sizes and colors.  The main difference is the wire extension with a twist on and off hook attachment.  The wire extension greatly reduces foul ups and allows you to switch from a treble to a single hook with just a twist.  I caught almost all my fish last winter on these.  They take a little longer to make because the wire has to be bent and attached but I think it's the cat's meow of ice jigs.  If we get decent ice this year I plan on getting some aqua view action of these.

X2 on DDS's lures! I have only a few left but they are my number one's. I have a plethera of ice lures now. A local store had a 50% off sale a few months ago because they were going out of business unfortunately. I stocked up and should be good for a few years (I'll still need to get more stuff from u DDS ;D). However, if I do need to buy more gear, Fleet Farm is my choice. Cabelas is unorganized and they need to make they're sections have longer isles instead of 10 short ones, frustrating :banghead:.

DDS,
I would like to purchase a duplicate order of whatever Wildlife gets. The guy obviously knows what he is doing.

:rotflmao: :rotflmao:  Sorry Osakis.  He won't even tell me.  That's why the special attachment to change hooks easily and the 3 sizes. He only uses one size.  It's a distraction. Basically  I send him the puzzle pieces and he mixes them up and puts them back together.  The only way to truly find out is to be invited to his new trophy room.  He keeps the lure he caught his fish on too.  I know one of them!! ;) ;)

That's fine. I respect his secrecy. Knowing how to put things together to get the bite he wants is part of what makes him such a good fisherman. How do I go about ordering some of the new 51's that you have put together? Who knows, maybe I'll find the right one that will let me kick Wildlife's  :moon: in the next challenge.
