Here is what greeted us last Friday and Saturday.  It was pretty much gone by Saturday evening but it was a nice to hunt in the snow.  There would have been enough snow for tracking,,, that is IF we would have shot one.

I had two days of winter north of Duluth and I am sick of it already.  We had to put salt down on the boat floor just so we could stand.   :cold:

Remer had 3.5 inches.  Deer were moving in the morning as I had a shot at a 9 pointer at 25 yards.  hit a very small branch and watched the lighted knock go 6 inches below its chest. And to make maters worse he ran 60 yards and watched me for 5 min as I climbed down and retrieved my arrow and notised him watching me.  I had time to go back to my stand, get my phone and take this picture.  He is in the middle of the picture.

Where abouts near Remer you hunting? You rifle hunting up there as well?  If so, I wont be far away from ya up closer to Boy River. Im happy snow held off one more weekend up there.  Would have been a pain in the arse Taking docks and lifts out. Im ready for the snow though, its been far too long for this guy!!!   :snow5:

Small world.  I was coming back from Orr but had to drop my boat off in Outing.  Went through Grand Rapids.  The ground was white until about 1 mile south of Remer.  After that no snow or slush on the roads at all.  You guys are hunting my neck of the woods.  I wish you the best of luck as I am not deer hunting this year.  I would think the boy river area would have snow on the ground.  It seems like highway 200 was the snow line.
