I am going to be spooling up all of my ice fishing poles soon, just grabbed a new one at fleet farm too.  What is the best fishing line, what is your favorite.  Do you have different favorite line for panfish vs. walleyes. I typically have 3-4 poles set up for panfish and 4-5 set up for walleyes.

What about line color? Do you think colored line makes a big differece when catching fish?  I  like orange just becuz its easy to see. I could see it making a difference in really clear water, But what about just your average lake water?

  I can't answer.  Fishing inside?  Spinning reel, bait caster, tip up,  or fly reel?  Jigging, dead sticking?  Depth?  The super lines are tough and have no stretch.  Fluorocarbon is clear with no stretch but tends to fall off the reel.  Braid can ice up especially on a bait caster.   :doah:  If I have to pick one I would take spiderwire with a flouro leader.  I need to post this before I change my mind. :sorry: . :doah: ;D

For me it's Fireline Ice in the crystal color.  It does ice up when fishing outside in cold weather.  Inside the big house or a portable is where I fish so that doesn't ever effect me much.  By the way I out fish DDS every time we are together  :happy1:

I know DDS the truth hurts. Maybe one of these times out on the ice you will have the luckiest day of your life.  Give a man a little luck and anything will do for brains :rotflmao: (I should have saved that one for Wildlife)

I use suffix 832 on all my rods and have no problems. I like it for inside and outsideand very little freeze up dont seem to be any worse than mono. I like the fact that when you release the bail down it goes with no help from me and NO memory
