BEMIDJI – Lake Bemidji State Park is offering an ‘I Can Fish!’ ice fishing event from 1-4 p.m. Jan. 12.


Participants should meet at the Visitor’s Center. Minnesota residents do not need a fishing license to participate.
Registration is required by Jan. 7. 218-308-2300

Kinda slow on here the last couple days.  Everyone must be on the ice

  Unfortunately that is not the case for me.  The day job has been especially taxing.  The continuing education classes have kicked into high gear as well.  I can't wait for that last week of January.  I plan on whacking the lake trout on Burnside, chasing pike on Pelican and trophy walleye on the "Lake of No Fish ". 

    With Wildlife sewing like a mad women trying to get ready for eelpout an the General too chicken to sign up this year it is pretty quiet.  With the Wildlife crushers a shoe in for first I guess the other teams have no smack left in them.  With a team as intimidating as ours I can see why everybody would want to practice their  and    speeches.  After all we only have a little over a month to go.

What the hell is "willing"?  If that is some new slang jargon I hope you do not go blind or grow hair on your palms from practicing willing.

Fun for you or fun for all? Never mind we all know your answer

As I see it not entering fish till the end is because one is afraid to stimulate the competition. Why not keep the competition more interesting by giving your competitors a goal to shoot at? It makes the competition more interesting knowing what you have to beat. Of course if your afraid to be up front and would rather slither in through the back door on your belly at the contests end then by all means. Just figured It's more fun for everyone instead of sandbagging.
 
But, then again there are those that may not look at it as a fun ongoing competition.

   Lee, he doesn't have anything in the bag.  It's going to take a 30" eye, a 38"pike and a 13" panny to get to the top.  80 inches give or take 4 inches.  The big fish will start showing up soon.  They have not yet been caught.   Wildlife is just pulling your leg.

   Yep.  You better check the fine print in your contract with Rumpelstiltskin.  If it truly was a golden horseshoe he sold you it would not be rusting away faster than the General backing out of challenges.  Even if you did, the longer you hold it the more chances of you losing the pic before you get a chance to post it.  The "Wildlife Crushers"are on cruise control and will be throwing up some bombs soon.

Really now willy. That was one of your most brilliant responses I've ever seen. Let's see now, how did that go? Oh yes it comes back to me now. I believe it was "You think?". How long did it take for you to come up with that two word sentence? If you don't mind me asking were you able come up with that all by your own self or did you get some help?

How come team Hole Shot hasn't had their walleye and panfish added in yet? I see the Ice Holes had theirs upgraded and theirs were posted later. Who's dropping the ball? Has to be that drill'em an fill'em guy.

  Yep.  He's the one.  Computer went down.  It took me all day to get it going again.  Lost everything and had to start from scratch.  I will get them updated tomorrow when I get back to the office.  This computer is grinding to a halt and I don't want to take the chance of messing it up.
