At this time I would like to present wildlifeminnesota with a one on one 2013 open water Fishing Challenge Top Gun side bet. Would you like to bet one dollar on each of the following species?

Bass................most inches
walleye............      "
northern...........      "

This would be one dollar per species. All measurements based on judges verification. This would be based upon each individual species not cumulative inches.

** Contest would start and end to coincide with the actual 2013 challenge.

I wouldn't even be able to find even one code violation. So, I'd give him a up.  However, when I was a youngster I couldn't build a fort in the neighborhood prairie without it collapsing within 3 days.

I'd just like to offer wild a chance at a friendly competition and if he beats me with a clean sweep of the big three I may even send him a Top Gun Trophy for his new room

   Top dog challenge?  Not total inches?  How can someone pretend to  be the top dog and not win the over all total?..   Mr. Wildlife has owned  the belt for 2 summers. ( He won last winter too but he did not post all three fish).

      It's way too early(in months) to be hashing this out.  We have a real man's challenge ahead of us.     

    Mr. Wildlife also will know that he can't possibly put a top dog trophy up if he does not win the over all.  You can have individual competitions but the name should be changed.    Just my 2 cents.   :fishing2:

Thanks for your input DDS.

 However, my intention is not to detract or distract from the ice challenge. Also I'm not trying to add another category to the 2013 open water challenge. I'm just looking for a simple one on one Lee V/S Wild future competition. I really don't see where the title Top Gun not top dog (as aforementioned) should interfere with any of the MNO sponsored challenges.
 
This is just a personal challenge offer I've extended to Wild only and none other. Now if there happens to be a Top Gun category already involved in the official MNO sponsored challenges then I could see where it may cause confusion. I have been known to miss a few things from time to time. I've not asked for my one on one side bet with Wild to be sanctioned because it's not necessary unless we have some new MNO bylaws.
 
I have great respect for Wild's fishing abilities and that's why I've offered him this friendly competition and felt that it would not be interpreted as invasive to anyone. Actually, as it turns out it seems to have generated some interest amongst the site members having generated 142 views in less than 24 hrs.  Now if Wild would like to announce his acceptance or refusal to my offer the ball is in his court.
 
 
In summation:
 
It's to early to make this offer.

I should change the name from top dog even though it's not top dog. (It's Top Gun!)
Result should be total cumulative inches.
The winner would just be pretending to be top dog (even though the real name is Top Gun)

  I stand corrected.  Top Gun not Top Dog.  Top Dog was Bobby's side challenge from last summer.  Sorry about the confusion.  I still think you should need overall total.  You know the old saying "Two out of three ain't bad but it isn't top anything".

Thanks for doing the research there Dawg. You have helped me in explaining my explanation of the phrase Top Gun. Just to clear things up for those not able to make the connection here. My offer to Wild is exactly like shooting fish in a barrel since that's going to be an easy victory for me.
 
Now, if we can get back to the original business at hand and leave the nonsense be    Will Willy or won't Willy accept the challenge I've confronted him with? "There's nothing to fear but fear it's self Willy" So come out from behind those weeds and give me a YES or NO!
