I have a Skypoint G4 trail cam. I really like this cam. It is easy to use and battery life is great. The question I have is that I am not getting small animal pics with it. Deer pictures are great, maybe a little slow on the trigger speed but don't miss many. I have tied a squirrel carcuss to a branch and its gone but no pictures of the critter who got it. I think it may have been a gray fox but not sure. I even seen the neighbors cat walk by the cam when I was swaping out cards on it and no image. Any suggestions?

Does that model have the range adjustment where you can increase or decrease that dial on the side? I had a similiar issue with my Spy Point and I adjusted that and it helped out a lot.

I know nothing about the spypoint but I do have a new moultrie 55d and also have the same issue with that model but not the m80. Could be the sensor isn't as sensitive.

yes it does. I thought that was for optimizing for the range of your trigger.

Just checked it and it has the distance dial on the side. I moved it from about 90% on the + side to about 75% on the - side. will see what happens.

I tried to post a link to the owners manual yesterday but got sidetracked. Sorry.
THat is what I adjusted on mine and it did make a difference. Good luck!

Have played with the adjustment over the last couple of days after reading the users manual. I had originally had it about the best it could be for this location. It senses off of heat source in motion. So whatever is coming in does not have enough heat output. I really like this cam but would like to get more pic of critters also. Anyone else have luck getting picture of both deer and varmints with a cost effective camera?  :Photography: Thanks for everyones comments.

I agree with Deer Stalker, DLC Coverts are pretty good.
For $150 I would buy a Bushnell Trophy Cam all day long. I love those cams.

we picked up a wildgame innovations micro red 4 just before season. We love it. paid about $100 for it. has time laps and you can adjust sensetivity. we use the medium setting and can pick up mice at 10 yrds and squirrels at 60yrds. performed side by side with a cuddyback. pictures and video is great. LED's are bright but dont wash out the pics. some pics can be a little blurry but still for $100 regular price i doubt you can beat it. they run on 8AA batteries and have amazing battery life.

this is the base model i believe, so they can get better for more money.

i picked another one up at Fleet Farm on black friday for $59 an absolute steal. i will be buying only these until something better comes out for the same price.
my wife said it.... im OFFICIALLY ADDICTED to MNO!!

we have a pair of wildviews..low end around 60$ new. these things will snap a picture of leaves falling. so if you don't mind sorting through hundreds of pictures of nothing it's a decent camera for the price. I have caught pictures from bears down to chipmunks all on the same card. biggest problem is how this burns up the batteries.

have switched to the moultrie 55 somethings with solar packs.. very nice
