Did anyone get out the during the snowfall yesterday? I must say that is dedication. In my opinion that is the worst of all conditions to deer hunt. You can't see through the woods with all the snow on trees and what falls out of them ends up down your neck. The deer seem to sit tight unless you get right on top of them so waiting in a stand in near futile. If anyone has major exceptions to this theory I would love to hear them.

You are right.  I didn't see a single deer yesterday.  Then again, I had the door closed so none could get in the house.  :campfire:

I also went out Saturday afternoon.  In four hours I saw 16 grouse and that includes some stand time.  Grouse and squirls were out in force.  Deer, not so much.

I think the hours leading up to the snow and about an hour into it can be a great time to be in the woods!! Especially hunting food...

Disclaimer: I didn't agree with this statement 4 years ago. I actually thought the opposite and told many people that. Since then I have learned and seen things that have changed my view.

i went out sunday evening for a final evening with the muzzleloader, didnt see anything. i went out the friday that we got the first initial snow and seen 9 deer on my trek through the woods. i had a shot at a really nice 8 pointer at 40 yards and the muzzleloader misfired
