I thought I would post this here for those that don't follow the Ely thread.  A couple of us are going to meet up with Greatoudoors in Ely and go Lake Trout fishing.  The date will be Monday Jan. 28Th.  We probably will be meeting up at his store in the early am and heading out from there.  Anyone interested in going sign up here.  I may stay another day or go fish Pelican the next day.  Come on up to Burntside, it should be fun.  :happy1:

    Burntside Lake Trout Challenge!!

   1. Research
   2. Develop
   3. modify
   4. Kick  :moon:

     The development phase has started.

Phase one-  Call Borgie.  Tell her GO needs another beat down.

                                               Game over!!
Phase two-  only necessary if Borgie is at Red Lobster and can not be disturbed,------Commence the beat-down without Borgie.  (it won't be as fun) but sure to leave a mark.

                       Preparations have begun.

Blade baits are done except for hooks.   The 2 part trout teasers are looking good.   First field tests will be on Burntside the end of January.

The only thing left for the 2 part trout teaser is a name and one of Greatoutdoors frozen ciscos.  When I have used frozen bait in the past it was quite fragile.  With this system the minnow will be skewered on the wire and then the single or treble hook will be spun on the no clasp attachment.  The wire extension greatly reduced foul ups on the round head version.  I can't wait to get them in front of a Burntside laker.

It is on.  We are ready to rock.  Hopefully the snow holds of  so we can drive out.  We will be hooking up with greatoutdoors on Monday morning.  I have access to a place in Orr so I would like to hit Pelican while I am up that way.  It depends if G.O. can hook us up.  If it's a good bite I may fish Tues as well.  If all goes right Wildlife will meet me at the Lake of no fish Sat.  We will fish it or a surrounding lake Sat and Sunday.  We will have a 3hr drive to Burntside Monday am.  We have lots of room so feel free to join us or just meet us at Burntside.   :happy1: :happy1:
