                    ND fish houses must float

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota Game and Fish Department is reminding anglers that unoccupied fish houses left on the ice this winter must be made out of materials that will allow the structure to float.  :titanic:

Agency officials say fish houses that do not float must be removed if the angler leaves the ice.

Fish houses also can't be placed closer than 50 feet to another house without consent of the occupant of the other fish house.

Fish houses have to be removed all waters by midnight, March 15, of each year. They can be used after March 15 if they are removed daily.

that is dumb... somebody there doesn't like the idea of sleeper houses out on the ice.  and how wil they prove it does, or doesn't float?
just another example of a lame, useless law.
If a gun kills people then I can blame a pen for my misspells?

The purpose of the law is for recovery. N.D  does not want debris introduced into the lake. It has nothing to do with being anti sleeper. It is for unattended or abandoned structures.

Like old junker cars with a hole cut in the floor and left on the ice..... :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

If your sleeper is insulated it will float for a while...Id bet.  Never heard of a problem with IceCastles etc left on the ice.

then pass a law that they must be licensed (which they probably are) and that they can't be left for more than 5 days unoccupied.  like leaving your car at the parking meter... put a time limit on it.

Believe me Big Fish Guy I am against the ever increasing cloud of regs. stacking higher and higher on fishing and hunting.
You could have alot of fun with this piece of legislation.
If I left an unattended shelter on N.D. waters I would string a clothesline around the whole thing and hang those cheap orange life vests or garage sale preservers on the entire circumference. There would be no judge with slightest sense of humor that would cite you.
Individual States have the complete authority to deal with their individual needs as they see fit. If this was a  Federal mandate I would personally get involved. Perhaps it is aimed at out of state people that set up camp and for some reason or another never come back. More power to them to keep the outsiders out .

;D Here You Go Guys! Just dig out that wallet :whistling:

The resorts have also realized the savings in propane! With the spray foam insulation, these shacks will heat up in seconds and hold heat. Oh, did I mention that the Zack Shack floats? We hope you never have to experience this feature, but yes they float! We have also incorporated a bunch of new features for the 2013 shacks that make an already great shack better! Just a few of the new features include the new ZS 60 fold down door system, the new ZS leverage arm system, ZS LED lights on the inside. These are just a few of the new features that have me extremely excited for this upcoming ice fishing season. So if you're looking at finally purchasing the last shack you will ever need, you came to the right spot!
