         Decades-old sturgeon thrive on Wisconsin's Lake Winnebago


Peter Vander Weilen of Wisconsin speared this 80-inch, 179-pound sturgeon on Lake Winnebago on the opening day of spearing season Saturday, Feb. 8, 2013. The fish, likely around 75-80 years old, is the sixth largest ever recorded on Winnebago, which has yeilded numerous larg sturgeon in recent years.
