2013 MNO Fishing Challenge Smackdown

Well it's that time of year again.  This is the official 2013 Smack Down thread.   In a nut shell the way it works is the team that catches the biggest fish and can get a good  of them wins.  It's pretty simple.

  In fact, it's so easy that a General could do it.     Nope.  Not quite that simple.  The first part of the contest requires catching fish.  That leaves the General out.

  Look on the bright side.  Being a has been is better than being a never was.  Just ask the General.      Besides my team will have this wrapped up by the 2nd week of July.

You are wrong,,, As long as I hold record's I will never fade away like you!!!!  I did not say I would not sign up, But I have loss some faith in how thing in the Challenge are going,,,, It's has nothing to do with the last Challenge I came in 2st place hell that a win for me as I only fish 5 time and post one fish that not bad,  Beside I do fish pan fish, and It's hard when I have order to fill, I was not going to sign in for the Ice challenge But I thou I won the last three I would, Beside who would be a good challenger,

   Since the official rules for the 2013 challenge won't be posted until the end of March or early April I think anyone should be able to complain about them.  Wise folks might just wait to complain until then.

No    We know you,  I think your thinking of new rule that may give you a better chance to win with out post a fish

  I am just weeding through all the incoming proposed rule changes submitted by members through my personal messages.  Lot's of them are really good ideas.  We still have two rules committee meetings to go through all of them.  It's going to make for a great challenge.

i concur with wild................... :whistling:my issue with the rules from my point of view is..............and this from the ice fishing contest. i entered a fish and was not counted because portions of the ruler werent shown. doesnt say it in the rules i read. could be wrong, but..........

anyway live and learn................just for fun.

5.a The entire fish must be in the picture and it is important that the nose of fish is up against the edge of the tape or fish measuring board.

   We have to be able to see this. Or we can't score it.   

      To ensure it doesn't happen again put it on a fish board.  If it is on a tape we need to see the beginning of the tape.  It's that way in the summer as well.  The best way to insure your fish is scored is take a good picture.  The pics in the summer are even harder because the fish is not frozen laying on a table.

it DOES NOT SAY...... the whole tape must be visiable! anyway not worried about it.

  Nope just the beginning and the end.  On a fish board we need to see the lips up to the vertical component so technically we would not have to see the beginning of the ruler.  If using a ruler or tape measure we need to see the beginning of the measuring tool. 

   It's good to get these questions out before the contest starts.  Glenn had a very nice pike not scored in the ice contest.  Not because any of the judges doubted his length was correct.  We just could not see the beginning or the tape even using double top secret photo enhancing software. 

   Lee also took a couple of lumps from Borgie after burning out the ruler numbers in the sun last summer. 
 
    Catching the fish is only part of the challenge.  We have all had our  moments.

I beg to disagree... my cell phone camera is 8 megapixel, my camera (ok a bit old )is only 4 megapixel.
