This Is one of my problem I have,
If I or you can not read the tape by looking at the photo that was post, Then it should be not score, you guy make to much out of something that should be easy,,,,

Scoring a fish should have The hole fish in photo, all so if fish is on tape or board the the next number on the tape should be showing so one would not have to gust the next Number, If this is dose right you all can see a close measuring of the fish, Photo shop should only be use for 1/4 1/2 3/4 of the tape and reading the staple Idem,

You think your luck star i am not a judge as you think Fawkinnae is a hard judge  ;D

My next problem I have,
The update should be done with a short amount of time, Not weeks with three judges you think it could be done, Still to this day I see mistake in lead board, Just like some other think that have not be update, I would  :help: update the board's

Nope just the beginning and the end.  On a fish board we need to see the lips up to the vertical component so technically we would not have to see the beginning of the ruler.  If using a ruler or tape measure we need to see the beginning of the measuring tool.

It's good to get these questions out before the contest starts.  Glenn had a very nice pike not scored in the ice contest.  Not because any of the judges doubted his length was correct.  We just could not see the beginning or the tape even using double top secret photo enhancing software.

Lee also took a couple of lumps from Borgie after burning out the ruler numbers in the sun last summer.

Catching the fish is only part of the challenge.  We have all had our  :doah: moments.

Everyone-  Cell phone pictures suck.
ya couldnt see it cause da fish took up all the camera space!!!!!! :banghead: :coffee: :whistling: :whistling:

Some verifications need second and third confirmations to assure accuracy. Judges want to get it right!

Some updates/upgrades/team standings can't be done at times because current fish photos are held back for long periods of time. :banghead: Even fellow team members don't what place they are in because someone that is special decides to hold back their photos. This reflects an attitude of :censored: the rest of the competitors and my team mates.

The clerical error was fixed.   :happy1:  It did not effect the outcome but was an error non the less.  I agree with Lee.  The sooner the fish is posted the sooner it gets scored.  These are not government jobs.  When you get to the judge level we have lot's of high profile, high stress meetings we have to attend.  Our distractions are numerous that is why there is a three year waiting list of potential judge candidates.  I have been so busy interviewing potential typists to update the leader board that I have missed some errors.  We will keep trying though. :bonk:

I thought you did not like new rules.  We have 3 pages of  small font, single spaced, new rules.  This was not one of them.  I guess the judges will have to have another meeting with the typists.  :king:  By the way, Lentz is our designated driver.

what new rule are you taking about it all right here

5. All fish must be photographed along side a clearly visible outstretched tape measure (Fish board recommended) and must include the staple item. This years staple item will be announced before the contest begins . This staple item  must be included in your photo along with the fish.

5.a The entire fish must be in the picture and it is important that the nose of fish is up against the edge of the tape or fish measuring board.

We have to be able to see this. Or we can't score it.

Judges don't do any guessing.  If we can't get it there is no score.  The best way to score a fish is with a good  :Photography:  If we can possibly score it we will.  It is a fishing contest.  I must say that the quality of the pics in the ice contest were greatly improved.  As I said before the summer is harder.  I would recommend a fish board and some saran wrap if you don't have another person with you to hold the fish.  Put it around the middle of the fish.  Not the tail.  It will help hold the fish in place.  I gotta go.  Another typist interview. :whistling:

Looking from the outside on the Ice challenge I thought it looked Fair. Pictures were good for the most part. Sometimes it is hard to get a good close picture when you have such a big fish and still get the ruler and staple in. If the judges have the technology to zoom don't worry about the size of the picture just get the beginning middle and end of fish in. This is supposed to be a friendly comp. Looking at this thread, if I was new and looking at this I would wondering about entering. When will the rules be posted? And where is the General. Some one please send out the MNO search party!!!

I am trying to say if they have the tech then you don't need a good close picture. They can blow it up to see what they need. Just get what they need in the pic. If the rules aren't to ones liking attend rules meeting. Things won't change till one particpates in changing things.

No, the General had some Micheal Jackson and the chimp tribute to attend.  He was one of Micheal's favorites.  He always held out for 2 snickers and a bag of chips.   :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Just hanging around the grill getting ready for summer.  Not having to worry about Wildlife or DDS complaining about a 1/4 inch.  However I don't blame them when it's that small they need every 1/4 inch they can get.   :whistling:

Weldgasman.  Take note of what Willy just did.  Taking my smack and then trying to turn it around and not come up with something original.  When you do this its like saying that was such a good smack that I can't come up with something better on my own.  My point is dont be a Willy :rotflmao:
