  2 months left boys and girls.  Only about 2 wks left until the shorter days and cooler temps send a signal to those fish that play time is over.  The feed bags will be strapped on and the monster fish will be on the prowl.  Of course most of you will be snuggled in your electric blankies when the Ultimate Storm will be out making things happen.  Good luck to everyone still fishing.  The leader board will change dramatically before this contest is over.

I've noticed that you keep posting photos of threatening storms. Fortunately they never seem to hit the ground to do any damage. Actually, come to think of it they are not to unlike your team the what's a names.

No not what I meant.   

What I meant was it's easy to talk trash from 1st place hence it brought out 2 members from the current 1st place team even though one is just a cheer leader.  Which is great, hence why I wish more teams could enjoy the view from the top it may get more chatter in here.

   It might have even be two fish.  That got him into the top 5 teams.  A smack now will have him    and saying he will not be fishing anymore.  My guess is it will take about 9 days before the hissy fit kicks in.  For the next 20 years or so he will state that he was in the top 5 once before he quit.      Do not smacketh the General.  He can't take it.

Well, let's see if I can wake up at 2:30 am and be on the road by 3:30 am and on the water by 5:15 am Thurs. morning. I'll be flying solo and looking to gain some inches in The Challenge. Forecast calls for sunny and 75.
Light winds and plenty of floating weeds on the lake surface.

If nothing else I just may take a shot at entering to Rock bass contest. I tried to talk Borgie into going but I think she's done for the season. Boy! These folks sitting in first place seem to just take it for granted. Look what happened to greatoutdoors. He got spoiled sitting in first place and hadn't launched his boat for 8 weeks.

I think I've been in the top 5 before  maybe even 3 times.  The best part about it was I helped get there and my teammates didn't have to take me to the top unlike the Tooth Fairy.  Plus that was back when team members didn't quit on their teammates and leave because they got mad, and my favorite....sign up as contestant number 36 just to try and keep me out of the challenge.

We will have to see if the BASSMASTER can finally catch a ROCKBASS!!!  They are pretty tough!

Well I tried today. Caught one musky trolling and a small pike. Muskies were stocked on L. Geneva about 3 yrs. ago at an avg. size of 11 to 12 inches. The one I caught was 32 inches and that's not a bad growth rate. My best bass (s/m) was 19". Only caught 2 rockies today. The weather man couldn't have been farther off on the forecast.
It wound up very windy and cloudy.

Musky was caught on my old standby 1 oz. tandem spinner bait (pink) with 7 inch trailer worm (pink) and a trailer hook.

Got a quick photo of the musky but the camera is still in the boat (in the garage). I didn't fish as long as I had planned due to the strong east winds and the 30 lb. anchor kept slipping. Not exactly conducive to finesse fishing I'd say.

Water temp 75.5 degrees

I can now see why you have such an obsession with the mighty rock bass. After doing some research I discovered that grandpa corn started it all back in the day. He must have been dyslexic since he spelled rock bass backwards.

           ...... The Ely Echo Interviews Greatoutdoors

Recently the Ely Echo had heard about the MNO Fishing Challenge. It seems that the team captain greatoutdoors (local resident) had been spewing the word around town about being in first place because of his contributions to the team.

 The Echo decided that an interview with the greatoutdoors was in order. "You know! "Local home boy makes good" Well, by the time they they finally found His Greatness (since he's never around at his tackle shop) things had changed. The editor asked "how do you feel since falling to second place?" So, to sum up the interview here's how greatoutdoors explained it.
