If BB would have invented the Model T we would all still be forced to drive that around.  I sure like electric windows and AC in my vehicle and to think that was all because of change.  Now some changes are crappy but one will never know if it's not given a try.  I also think their should be a special category for those who sign up and then don't participate or they go fishing opener and are never heard of again.  Put the rules you want in DDS and who cares.  I will vote on this topic once I decide if I'm in the challenge or not.  I don't want to be one of those people Lee is talking about

   Just to be clear there will be a team challenge.  There is no individual tourney.  If someone wants to set it up have at it.  I would be happy to play in that too.  This discussion is about the team challenge that will be taking place.  The final rules to be posted the first week in April.  You do not have to fish in the challenge to donate prizes.

i think we should not have teams and make a individual tourney that way if you are really good at lets say bass fishing and not so good at walleye fishing then maybe you will take the time to learn how to fish walleye or if your a walleye fishermen maybe you will spend a day or two trying to catch bass. JMO but if we make it a individual tourney then if you choose not to enter a fish or try catching all 3 types of fish then it's your loss it will also stop the   about team memebers not playing there part in the contest so that's JMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like how the ice fishing challenge worked with at least 2 team members needing to submit fish, though it was a little more work for the judges to keep straight. It is a wrinkle that, to me, improved the tournament and put a little more pressure on everyone that signed up to participate.

This is the exact reason I'm leaning towards a no vote.

You have made your point that it sucks to get a bad team mate and all you do after that is make a threat that its my way or I won't play.  DON'T PLAY THEN      Its a game for fun,  Make it fun for everyone.

One bad team mate still makes the challenge fun.  In my 5 years of the challenge 2 of the years have been fun.

I voted no because it makes the other team mates get out and fish or make the time to fish if you dont have the time or dont plan on fishing then dont enter im all for the one man fishing team then you have know one to blame and you get a bigger challenge out of it and hey you get to post all 3 fish.

on a side note you said you posted all three fish last time so whats wrong with you doing it by your self solo just a qustion thats all

And for me I would rather find a way to motivate my teammates to get that 3rd needed fish. And if that means we need to get together and go fishing - all the better.

That work some time but not all, You been there,,,, We all have, Some time thing come up in life that can not be help, Some just sign up for a chance to win something,  when you sent e-mail and get no reply, How are you going together and go fishing,,,,,, Been there done that to many time

I agree with this too and think that their are good arguments on both sides.  This post here though is the reason I think I'm going to sign up to take the place of the person with good intentions but life gets in the way.  (If DDS allows it.  If not that's ok too  )

How about we meet in the middle and say one team mate can post all of the teams fish if the other Teammates don't post any?  Otherwise only two fish may be posted by one member.  Seems like a good middle ground.

i voted NO. i liked the winter challenge way. that way its a team effort instead of just one individual! i have read this whole thread and it has turned into a big whining thread put the big boy pants on and go fishing....nuff said

Since its called a chalenge, isnt that what would happen if the it turns into 1 guy on the team carrying the load, its one thing to sign up an be lazy but to sign up an life happens to be in the way with un expected sh it, Imean come on, I signed up, cause Id like to give it awhirl, got two jobs an a wife that works two jobs an kids, one graduating, wife an I ride cycls an take trips, (we should have a mottorcycle thread) other family events ect ect ect.an God forbid if something major happens, yeah Im busy but I still get out an fish as much as i can an some years not so much an others. Thats the challenge. I see both sides but before signing up one needs  to think about his true intentions. Im gonna get out an fish as much as I can just cause I love to fish, Gota smallmouth mecca in my own back yard, walley wonderworld 20 mnts from home anlong with gators to be found all over. This should be fun an Im looking forward to having some.
