I got the call.
Well yesterday I got the call from Guards that i will be deploying to Afghanistan in December this year.  Not really news i wanted but that's why im in the Guards i guess.  Really gonna mess up ice fishing  :cry: but atleast i'll have time to stick a buck.  :Deer: :green archer:

I have a buddy there right now in charge of arming and handing over fuel to the Afghan army. Although your service is noble and extremely honorable  the United States involvement is a major embarrassment. The Afghans are using the foreign aid they receive from us to the hilt. The tankers of fuel our Government sends them to keep the Afghan army going just end up on the local agora or market and is sold to anyone. Last week they refused a major shipment of m16s because they were not brand new. He claims the weapons were in better shape than any he has ever been issued and he has been in the Army guard since 1983. To be honest they would prefer AK 47s anyway.
Stmntz keep your eyes open and your hind end down the entire time you are there and come home safe.
For those of you reading this you must realize that the last man that wants to see war is a soldier but he does what he has to do for God and country.

Afghanistan doesn't sound like much of a vacation at all.

well... I for one will offer my services to coordinate a MNO sponsored care package for ya. let me know the shipping info and i'll see what I can get tossed together for ya. my buddy over there right now says jerky is like gold for the troops.

Well just got back yesterday from a week of training up in Camp Ripley with my new unit that im deploying with.  Seem to be a good group of guys so far.  We sent alot of lead down range which is always fun and didn't even get lost doing land nav ;D
