$333.00 for a 2011 Ford F150   :banghead:

I don't remember my 2007 GMC being that much when I bough it in 09.  Talk about a kick in the shorts.  Oh the good old days of one of the good things Jesse did with the $189 and $99.  Thank you Democrats :bs:

Just wait,  they are just getting started.   :banghead: :banghead:  Thankfully the refineries were shut down during the Legislative session because they had a big state gas tax planned.  Even the lefties knew there would be backlash doing it when gas was that high.

fords pay more taxs since it's cost more to clean up all the parts they lose on the side of the road.

But my SUV is a 2003.  Still purrs like a kitten though - lets hope for another 2 years from it.

I'm not real particular as to which brand as long as it's Ford, Dodge, or GMC.  However that 2007 Sierra doesn't hold a candle to the ecobeast and neither do the 2014's.

Are you kidding me!ecoboost? Lets just say don't buy it for the mpgs they bost about not to mention you need to run it premium fuel...Power yes,but not near the power of a v-8 w/o twin turbos.

Just driving with no load on two separate trips got 21.4 and 21.6 mpg.  However i got that with the 5.3 gmc v8 on long trips too.  Power  and torque is very noticeable difference between the gmc and not as much with the dodge hemi but still noticeable.  My Buddy bought a 2013 ram long horn edition (best interior I've ever seen ina truck) but he's lucky to get 17.  The only thing i like better in the gmc i had was the ride, and their is something to say about the sound a v8 makes.

Hmmm, can't here the engine in GM trucks unless you put duals on,the new 2014 has sound deadners as well, zero road noise and mucho power, even the new 4.3 ecotech v-6 with 285hp,very sweet engine for the econmy minded truckster and no twin turbo to worry about that burns premium fuel.

I would like to here how much your ecoboost dropped in mpgs with a load or trailer,I here it from others, car lots in nodak/sodak are loaded with these trucks as the leading factor is the fuel econmy #1,and #2 the repair cost of the twin turbos around 70k miles, just outof powertrain warrenty...

I guess I must have had the only 2007 GMC truck that made kind of a nice growl (not loud, just that sound you get with a V8) with stock exhaust (especially at start up).  This Ecobeast sounds like a wimpy car.  I get 12-14mpg's hauling the boat (18.5 foot smokercraft, wrap around windshield, 115 Etec).....same as I got with the 5.3V8 GMC which was a truck I really liked too.  However this truck feels like you are being shot out of a rocket. The GMC would take a bit to get up to speed compared to this truck.

From owners manual:

3.5L V6 EcoBoostTM engine
Your vehicle is designed to run on regular fuel with an octane rating of 87 or higher. For best overall performance, premium fuel with an octane rating of 91 or higher is recommended.

I have never ran a drop of premium gas in mine and get the mileage I have stated.  All trucks have their issues I guess and the turbos are part of the truck so I'm guessing some people may have had problems with them but I'm sure the percentage is probably 90% to 10% of the people who have had problems with the turbos at or above 70k in miles.  Heck Dodge is know for rusting out, not being able to keep a tranny in a truck, with GMC not far behind (I had to replace mine at 65K, buddy has a 2007 and he's replacing his at 109,000 but I'm sure many probably have gone the life of the truck).  GMC and their oil sucking Active fuel management system in the 5.3V8 in which Dodge seems to be able to figure it out but the GMC dealer just tells people that it was within their specs for these engines to use 1 to 2 quarts every 3000 miles.  With all that I would be happy to own any of these brands new just after owning or driving them ALL Ford is Superior right now.

P.S. Who buys a truck based on gas mileage?  Sorry to say but it's going to be poor.....it's a truck

P.S.S One thing I forgot was the leg room in the crew cab compared to my GMC crew...when your sitting in the back if feels like your in a limo their is so much room in the Ford.

P.S.S.S Plus Ford didn't have to take a government bail out.

General,

Well ya got me on the bail out$,but so what,GM still builds a superior truck in my book,we all have our favorites, however things have changed alot since 2007 in the GM line, tranny @65k would be covered under GM's powertrain warrenty, not fords, but I agree the eco boost whines up good on the straight away, but runs better on recommended premium fuel as stated on pg200 in the owners manuel and a must for trailering otherwise you get pinging which they say is normal (I don't buy it)

Folks out west jumped on the ecoboost right outof the shoot for economy but were surely dissappointed after the 1st 10k miles pulling, milage went right through the tank.

PS~ no more oil consumption issues either, got it figured out a few years ago thank goodness,GM was dropping new engines about every 1 outof 10 5.3's in 07 and 08,all warrenty to boot.

I am not sure where you get your information, but 10 guys complaining on the internet about pinging when pulling doesn't make it true.  I say this because I don't use premium fuel and pull things and don't ever have this happen and know 3 others who really like their ecobeasts.  Maybe I'm not pulling heavy enough things.  Sorry about the folks out west they bought a truck, were going to make it use power pulling, and think they are going to get 20mpgs.     Like I said earlier I literally get the same mpgs with the Ford as I did with the GMC.  I'm sorry for me this is not a Ford vs GMC vs Dodge.....I like them all.  However I think someone could put a GMC symbol on a Ford Pinto and you would think it was the greatest thing ever made.  When GMC decides to step it up and comes out with an ecoboost of their own I may switch back, however Dodge would have to not have one yet, because even they are above GMC right now.

Hey you won't hear me defending Mr. it's not a tax it's a fee, on this issue.  However it was the Democratic legislature that pulled this rabbit out of the hat.

I had someone pm me asking why Chevy wasn't included in the discussion and I only talked about GMC.  Well buying a chevy vs a gmc is like choosing to have Rosie O'donnell or Eva Mendes hanging on your arm.  Both are the same underneath however I'd rather be driving home with Eva (GMC).  Hence why DDS has a Chevy.   :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
