Fall fishing is in full swing! Try jigging with a minnow in the early mornings and early afternoons in front of Zippel Bay and Morris Point in 24-27 feet. In the late afternoon to early evenings, anchor up in 6-15 feet and jig. Glow/gold and solid gold are hot colors with a live minnow. Plenty of action pulling lead and crank baits outside of Lighthouse Gap in 30-34 feet or from Long Point and in front of Pine in 25-29.

Emerald shiners are on the move and the walleyes are following. The Rainy River has lots of action late afternoon until just before dark in 18-21 feet of water jigging with pink/white! Only a few more days to keep a sturgeon and they are active in deep holes using crawlers.

Up on the NW Angle, walleye and crappie have been active in 32-35 feet of water West of Falcon Island and Johnston Passage. Anchor and jig with pink/chartreuse for the best bite. Muskie have been following schools of walleye and staying in deep waters. Use chartreuse and orange or black cowgirls. Pike and smallmouth bass have been sticking to rocky shorelines and edges of bays.  For more info, go to www.LakeoftheWoodsMN.com.
