I was going to start this in open water but see more posters over here.  Legislation will be proposed to allow 2 lines for open water angling.   This seems to be a very controversial subject among anglers.  Please post your thoughts, and lets keep it civil.  I for one think it would be OK, I don't believe it would hurt the resource and it would only be beneficial in certain situations.   So what do you think?

the limit is the limit. I dont care how many lines you use. when you hit the limit your done.
it doesnt bother me in the least.
it would be kinda nice to throw a big beach ball bobber with a huge sucker minnow, out behind the house boat while fishing pan fish on the other side.
one way or the other, I dont give a rip.

I agree with Jiggle...  The limit is the limit and if you catch them with 1-2-3...100 rods I don't care.  I would love to fish for panfish and have the sucker out back. 

Why can we use 2 in the winter and only 1 in the open water?

I'm definitely all for having 2 lines for open water fishing. As long as their is a limit on the amount of fish (which there is) then what would it matter. When fishing is slow, it is a great benefit to drop a couple different setups down and see which one has a better response.

This is one of the reasons that I choose to fish a lot in Wisconsin, I can drop a line over the side of the boat with a minnow and cast around with another line.

When the bite is on and the fish are an easy meal, it's better to go back to one line, otherwise you end up missing more with 2 rods than if you just concentrated on the one.

I agree, we should be able to use two lines in the summer, like we can in the winter.  I just wouldn't want to have two lines in each of my kids hands, because they can make a tangled mess with only the one now.  :)

The only problem I can see by having 2 lines is- I'll have to quit fishing for the day sooner!  Yeah as if I EVER get my limit!!  ::)

I like the idea of being able to fish with 2 lines.  When I fish in Wisc. I always have a slip bobber rig floating around the boat as I'm casting.  I usually don't catch any more fish, but it's nice to have the bases covered.

I agree, 2 lines or 200, when the limit is reached, what difference does it make,lets fish when we can.
but when there, ok, enoug is enough.

I have to agree with most everyone else on this one.  As long as we have a limit, two lines should be fine.

Im all for it, then again us guys over herein WI can use THREE! I never understood why MN could only use one.  As its been said, a limit of fish is still a limit regardless how many rods you use to catch them.

More than 1. I would like to hear an argument from someone who thinks it should be 1. That 1 line law ranks up there  with the stupidest.  Other states just roll their eyes when they hear we can only fish with one.

Well for one I don't think thatur going to find anyone to say 1 line.

Now that ur on to stupid laws. Did you know in utah it's illegal to fish for trout from the back a girraff. Now who'd a ever thunk that? ???
