Game ON.  Fishing is awesome with multiple limits. Mornings and afternoons have been the hottest bite for most anglers. Limits filling quickly with mixed numbers of trophy fish! Try Morris Point across to Pine Island in 17-19 feet or 22-24 feet straight our from Zippel to Long Point. Gold, red and pink are the colors to use with jigging spoons, jigs, jig-a-bits, or gem-n-eyes tipped with a minnow.

Ice continues to thicken with below zero weather. Bays now have 10-12" and 9-12" on the lake. Staked resort trails are available to snowmobiles and ATV's. Resorts are transporting guests to fish houses which were pulled out last week. No larger vehicles are allowed yet.  Initial plans to mark snowmobile trail from Wheeler's Point area to NW Angle on Thursday.

Up at the NW Angle there is 9-12 inches of ice in spots around islands and bays. Trails are starting to be marked but be aware of current areas and patchy ice. Please use resort trails and use ice guides in remote areas, safety first!  Lodging and fishing info at www.LakeoftheWoodsMN.com.
