I dropped my auger in a snow drift on Friday, and have not been able to get it started since.  :doah: Nothing seems to be damaged. I changed the spark plug and dumped out the gas that was in it. It is a StrikeMaster Magnum. Maybe 2 years old. Has always started great. Solo engine. Any other suggestions about what the problem could be?  :scratch: I wanna get it running by Friday for my day off.

  That is where I would look too.  Mine is touchy so I choke it out rather than take a chance on the switch. I keep it in the on position at all times.   If it fires at all it is something else.

On/Off switch is good, cause I have a spark going to the spark plug. It has been inside since Friday.

Did you check the carburetor to see if any linkage is damaged or stuck?

There is no gas leaking. I'm wondering if my gas had some water in it. Gonna put some new gas in it and see if that helps.

sounds like maybe water in the gas and it may have froze i would put fresh gas in it and make sure you have it inside to help dry it out if you have spark then there is a reason your not getting fuel good luck

Pull the plug,Drop a teaspoon of MIXED fuel in the hole,reinstall the plug and start it.Then tell what happens.I'm not to bad at mechanics of small engines and diagnosing.
 When the plug is out is there water droplets on it? if not water shouldnt have entered.

Now I'm thinking it is a spark issue. When I ground the  plug on the on the engine block with the top connected, I do not see a spark in the gap. I did, however, get a small shock when I stuck my finger in the connection. The spark plug is new and correct size. Maybe a bad connection or switch problem? Still investigating.

    Take the plug out.  Squirt starting fluid in and replace the plug and give it a pull.  If it does not fire you have no spark.  If it fires and quits it's the gas or a gummed up carb.

Not to pick on yah doc but thats the worse thing you can do to a twostroke engine.No lubrication just for a couple strokes will sieze the engine.

You most likely broke the plug when you dropped it. Get a new plug and your problem should be fixed.
