What do you use?  steal, mono, fluorocarbon?

I make my one 3 foot leaders out of 50 pound fluorocarbon.   Never been bit off and I feel I get more bites.

For pike I like to use steel leaders with either a big treble or circle hook through the tail. I also like to put a sinker about a foot up from the leader, I find I have way better luck with pike right off the bottom.
