CASS LAKE — The annual ice fishing tournament on Cass Lake hosted by the Cass Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will be Feb. 8. Parking is available at Sailstar Marina and the MnDOT rest area.


The tournament begins at noon and will continue through 3 p.m. Angling prizes will be awarded through 40th place and the angler who catches the largest fish will receive $2,000.

Many other prizes will be awarded through various drawings.

Tickets are available at many Cass Lake and Bemidji businesses including the Cass Lake Chamber, Palace Casino, Froggy’s Sports, Safari Liquors, Clem’s Hardware, Teal’s Market and Palace Junction.

HARDWATER CLASSIC

BEMIDJI — The sixth annual Hardwater Classic ice fishing tournament will be Feb. 15 on Lake Bemidji .

The tournament is sponsored by BSU’s Beaver Pride and raises funds for BSU athletics. Check-in for the tournament begins at 10 a.m. and the tournament will be held from noon to 3 p.m.

Tournament officials will drill holes near the Nymore Beach access and will offer more than $20,000 in prizes. The angler who catches the largest fish will win $2,500.

The advance registration fee is $30 and the cost will be $35 the day of the event. Anglers registering prior to Feb. 1 are eligible for an early-bird drawing and the chance to win a GPS.
