Just out of curiosity G.O. where exactly on this thread did you see me say I would not enter any side bet. All I've seen are your simpleminded allegations of my not being willing to rise to the occasion..........!

What I'm reading from Lee, sounds like he grew a set, and is now willing to participate in the side bet. (what do you  think?)
That's Boar/TGO/Lee in a man vs man vs man side bet contest.
Now all we have to do is see if DDS would like to back up some of his bold statements about his fishing prowess, but we all know how that will end!!!!!

Contestants will be, Boar, TGO, Lee (since he suggested the contest), and  DDS! (since we need someone to finish in 4th place)
Three fish, same rules as the regular Challenge, except we best take a long, hard look at the judges, as one may be a bit biased.
Perhaps someone who is as honest as the day is long, the General, would volunteer to judge this side bet.  What say Ye, Big Daddy??
I don't think we need any prizes, as the fear & humiliation of losing, will keep everyone focused.
Just an afterthought, perhaps any fish that are leading in the real Challenge cannot be counted in our side bet, you'll have to use another.  If a fish that was leading in the real Challenge gets beat out for the largest, it will count in our fish war.  Sound OK to you??

DDS is correct as far as the 3 stooges side bet competition goes. We shall wait till the actual teams for the 2014 Challenge are drawn. Besides that the side bet rules will vary from the main challenge. The one thing being the same is all the side bet fish will have to go through the same verification process by the judges.

 You will be able to come in 1st or 2nd, or 3rd. Also You might be able to come in 1st and 2nd, and 3rd. Are you confused (details will follow soon enough).

Someone here can't read directions and I think he lives in a far away country called Never Never Land (Ely?). What does "hold your horses" mean What does "Details will follow soon enough"mean.
Now he wants to start a 2nd side bet competition before the 1st one is officially rolled out. I say to him!

Prettyeasy, when i catch a 30 inch walley for the challenge all i havento do is catch one slightly smaller. Heres a Q,  saybi enter a fish for the challenge then up grade it, can the first fish be used in the side bet?  Or should that be seperate also? Meaning one in a side bet has to decide which contst to enter a fish in. Dose he want to carry his tea. To victory or leave them on the battle field for the vultures to pick at.

As far as I can see I haven't submitted the side bet rules as of this point. But, of course there are those that already have decided that the rules that I have not yet submitted are unsatisfactory. Under the circumstances I feel that I shall stand aside. I submit jurisdiction of the side bet competition to those who quite obviously stand above all others.

Knock your socks off boys and keep changing and fine tuning those side bet rules daily. Those of you that have your own ideas about additional upgrades to the side bet rules please jump right in. Please bare in mind that the more bazar or outrageous your recommendations are the better. After all fun is what it's all about.   Controversy is the rule here so don't hold back on your rules suggestion.

   Pretty interesting so far.  Big fish won't count, unless someone catches a bigger one then the smaller one counts.  I'm sure it makes perfect sense to anyone with dementia or Glenn .

ALL I SEE ARE 2 GUYS wanting to set up some peremiters to a side bet and 2 others dragging there feet afraid of getting there feelings hurt or there butts kicked.

besides based on past practice I see posted here..........a side bet has been usually just between 2 people!!!!!

hey im just trying to figure things out, remember im the ROOKIE here, so what ever the VETERENS come up with is fine by me. Im easy just ask my wife and my high school class mates,

Just a thought here but since you have DDS in this little side bet perhaps you are looking at the wrong way... I am suggesting that you add the total up for walleye, bass, northern and a ROCKBASS but not the longest but the shortest combined length of all four fish...    takes a pretty good fishermen to be able to catch four shorties.  And it would give DDS a fighting chance! you could start with a 12 inch mim for each of the four fish and then as you caught a fish you would knock off the length. So if your total was 48 inches and you caught a 8 inch northern your score would now be 44 inches... add a 6 inch walleye and your score now comes down to 38.. just an idea....

Yup, your first fish can be used if you upgrade with a bigger one. 
I see Lee if taking umberage with this side bet, wants to set rules later, yada, yada, yada.
It's just a stinking side bet for crying out loud, not the end of the world!!
I see Bobby Bass has suggested a Rockbass being the fourth fish, probably got a wad of cash from DDS for suggesting a fish he may have a chance of catching!

P.S. Boar and TGO might want to tone down the rhetoric it seems as if you're putting the fear of, or should I say wrath of Borgie into them.  Just a bit of advice, but get your opponent to commit first then drop the Louisville Slugger on them.

P.S.S  Keep the Rock Bass out of it.  It's just like any Bass.....anybody with an ounce of fishing capability can catch one.    bait stealers.

I only fish for rough fish  (Lakers) in the winter, then concentrate on Walleye and Pike in the summer.  
Any Bass caught and entered in the summer Challenge, is a mistake that I must publicly admit to get it entered.
