Twas the night before Ely, when all through the town. The natives were stirring and scrambling around. They knew there was trouble on the way from the south.  Sure most will be safe cept the man with the mouth. He certainly fears the folks from the south. And rightfully so after shooting his mouth. He's fitting his porch with an emergency hatch. But when Borgie arrives he won't be no match. His tiny old walleye that stands at the top will soon be defeated and wind up a flop.

His friends around Ely knew this day would come. They knew that their hero was washed up and done. The rumors been flying from the left and the right. Theirs going to be one hell of a fight. As for me I've been thinkin it sure must be stinkin to get your kicked.  By tourists' from the land. Of honest Abe Lincoln!

Looks like you are gearing yourself up for another "fantastic finish," just like last year where you single handedly carried your team into 10th place!!

This sucks! Finally get healthy and ready to get out for the first time and the boat has problems. Get the boat figured out and ready to go Saturday morning. Suddenly there is about a one acre size cattail bog charging down on the area of the lake where I am at being pushed by 30 mph winds. Everyone to the south and north of me, including myself, start scrambling to get our boats, docks, and lifts out of the water before we take a hit. Most were alright. Couple of docks didn't do to well, one of which was mine. Broke the welds and tore some of the aluminum on mine. So now I have to get somebody out here to do some welding for me so I have a dock again. No one along here is putting there stuff back in the water yet because the bog hasn't gone far down so if the wind shifts it may come back. I attached a picture of the lake end part of my dock. You can see the bog in the lake. It stopped there for the night. It finally started moving on this afternoon when the WSW winds kicked in.

Once my dock is fixed it will be time to  the Meet the Fawkers and the rest down a notch. That will be easy. Have to admit the 1st place team might be harder but they will fall.

It may take Lee and Borgie a period of time before they can catch any fish, with all the high winds we've had in the area since Saturday. 
If they did manage to make it into Basswood the last four days, they'll be bobbing around like one of those crab boats in the Deadliest Catch!   
Gee, I sure hope they do well and catch some big fish!!

The only thing that will be in vain is your teams attempt to catch bigger fish than the Grave Diggers. It's only two months, still plenty of time to bury the rest of the teams.

Looks like the little kid's up 14 inches to 0. 
This could give DDS a chance to beat someone in a fishing contest, but I wouldn't bet any money on it!!

Should be pretty easy to judge that.  I'd only have to judge one fish.

Nice walleye StevenJames.  That puts the Grave Diggers on the board at 5th place, well within striking distance of the leaders. I hopefully should be able to help out in a few days. Got my broken dock sections back from the welder and finished all the mechanical assembly today. Going to start on the electrical tomorrow since I had to pull all the pvc conduit and electrical boxes off.

  Well I am back from vacation.  First day back at work today.  Looks like I will be paying the price for being gone for a week.     I will go through and get caught up on the fishing challenge pics and scores when I get  a chance.  I think after briefly glancing there is some upgrading to be done.  Lee has the right idea.  3 weeks is the way to go.  Our week we only had 1 day and 1/2 where the weather was nice.     The logging road to the resort was washed out adding 3 hrs to the drive and tripling the distance of coming in the back way via the other end of the logging road.

DDS really needs his own thread titled "It Could Only Happen To Me".  With all his stories about the  luck he's been gifted with.  I'd guess through out the years now he'd be going on about page 4 or 5.

Bad weather, terrible road into the resort, then comes back to getting his butt kicked by a three year old in a side bet! 
It's a good thing that the youngster had some mercy and didn't require any minimum length on the entries, or DDS would be shut out!

  You guys dodged a bullet.  I had the 30"plus  eye up to the boat.  She was barely hooked and slipped off this time.  I had not anticipated any big ones this week.  Only lot's of mid range.  The big ones will be coming soon enough.

   The leader board has been updated so please double check your team scores to verify accuracy.  It looks that "The sleeve of obtruction" has about a week and 1/2 left on top of the leaderboard.  I sense a beatdown of epic proportion is in the near future.
