Hello all. New guy here. Born and raised all my almost 29 years in North Carolina. Will become a Minnesota resident as of April 6th of this year. Will be in the NW Metro area. Hope to get further out once more established. Have no idea what to expect in MN as far as hunting and fishing. I crappie fish a bunch here in NC. I also deer hunt. I knew methods are a lot different in MN than NC. Looking forward to meeting new people and trying to things.

 ::welcome::

Hopefully you brought a REAL winter coat.   :happy1:

Crappie fishing is quite different up here, where they are targeted a majority of the time in the winter.  It will take some time to get used to everything up here.  Deer are much bigger up here  :deer:  So you will be delighted once you get out in the woods.
Hopefully we can be a good resource for you in your transition up to the north.

 :toast:

Hunting is not life and death. It is more important than that.

Hey my brother, ::welcome::

I'm from Illinois and have been a Minnesota wanna be for a lot of years. Unfortunately, all I've been able to scrape up a few weeks each year in Minn. Glad to see someone else stepping out of the box though and making the big move up to the northland. Good luck with the big change and maybe you can teach the natives a few of your own tricks. It's going to be tuff though since these guys know just about everything there is to know about the outdoors.

If you don't believe me just ask um! :doah:

Thank you all. Never had to hunt public land in NC. Unless I make the right friends, I'm in for a first. Haha. No worries, I like a challenge and from everything I'm told, most Midwest and upper Midwestern states have better public land than NC has private.

As far as fishing, not a bass fisherman unless it's smallies. Can't stand largemouth. Apparently everything else up there has teeth lol. Would love to figure the walleye thing out. Might be a while before I get my boat up there though

Ice fishing is a challenge here,its tricky standing back 50' after you drill your 8" hole and try to land your lure in that small target,some guyz cheat and drill a 10" hole,either way makes the cold winter go by... So,do you dig for ginseng back home,herd its big money...and what about moonshine,herd that passes the time as well.

Welcome to MNO~

Don't dig seng.... don't grow where I'm from. Can't make something I'd drink all the profits up from. Corn does indeed flow from a jar like nectar from a goddess's flower. Beware, some of those flowers aint all roses. Good shine goes down like water and leaves a slight burn after it's down. Bad shine will go down bout as easy as trying to cuddle a tom bobcat.

Devils all the way. I'd like to be a heels fan but I can't get behind a left wing libtard town/college and Roy Williams. That's king O's team as well. King O has him doinf healthcare.gov commercials now. I grew up Methodist too so that might have a little to do with the choice....that and the heels fans are OBNOXIOUS.

Well I'm here now. Living in Plymouth. Working in Plymouth. The girlfriend introduced me to Mills Fleet Farm. What a store. Nice brass selection considering the times. Any other places I should I check out?

Been to Cabelas. How is the reloading shop in Minnetonka? Can't remember the name without a Google search.
