Good ice fishing continues.  Permanent houses out until March 31, walleye season open until April 14. Pike season open all year.

Mornings and evenings still most active with short flurries throughout the day. From Arnesen's, Long Point, Zippel Bay, and Graceton in 24-26 feet. Green/white, silver, or red/white tipped with minnow. Lighthouse Gap and Pine Island good in 17-19 or 22-28. Hug close to Pine or head north 5-6 miles. Pink or gold the colors to use tipped with minnows. Electronics still beneficial. Northern pike fishing picking up in Zippel Bay, Bostic Bay, and 4 Mile Bay in 9-12 feet with live sucker minnow.

On the rainy River, open water is visible 15 miles East of Birchdale. Ice fishing continues to be good mornings and evenings in 17-19 feet. Use pink, gold, chartreuse with live minnow.

Up at the NW Angle, walleyes continue to be active with perch, pike, and tulibees in the mix. Fish 22-26 feet using gold or pink tipped with minnow head or live shiner.  Good crappie bite continues just over the border into Canada.  For lodging info, www.LakeoftheWoodsMN.com/lodging.
