Just read (forums) that Agassiz Lodge might have burndt to the ground this sometime today?  Any truth to that?  Jeff are you out there?  I know I talked to earlier today.

Just talked with JEFF and it's true...  His entire lodge burndt down this AM (sometime after 9:20 AM) due to a wood stove.  HE HAS NOTHING...

BUT HE IS STILL OPEN.  Please call him to confirm your rental because EVERYTHING WAS LOST.  He will be running around today due to LOOSING EVRYTHING, all he has is the clothes on his back.

this is horrible news.
I hope nobody was hurt.
lets keep Jeff in mind when heading to red. he has a road marked out to the crappie hole on the north shore. it's too damned cold for anybody to be in the outdoors.

I wonder if the community is going to do anything to help him?
probably a few snickering under their breath tho. I am not one of them.

it's a tough buisness up there now. this wont help things for him.
we can help by steering buisness his way.
maybe we can start a fund to get him some relief.
maybe some gift cards to L&M in bemidji or wal-mart, or cash.
lets help the guy out.
take a kid hunting and fishing!!

He was turning that lodge around by building more places to stay just to have it all go up.

HE WILL BE THERE THIS WEEKEND so I will be out catching some fish so the darn guy can eat.  This was supposed to be a filming trip for Agassiz Lodge now it's turned to be a HELP A GUY OUT trip and I have no problems with that.

this is awful news...  anything anyone can do to help the guy out...  long term I hope insurance comes through for him... what he'll need is short term help.  I don't know what I can offer him, but maybe jiggle you have a couple of jigglestick hoodies?  Doug, maybe some fawkinae gear?  Scott, report back what he needs help with and maybe we can do something.

I'm very sorry to hear of this disaster. I'd be happy to outfit Jeff in Fawkinnae wear but I think he's going to need a lot more than that. That's a heart-breaking story.

MNO will be starting a fund raiser for Jeff and Agassiz lodge. I'm not exactly sure if this will be paypal or not, I'll have to talk with Jeff and see what he would like.

I will be starting another thread for the fund raiser.

This is terrible. I do have an Idea what it's like as my house burned down in 2000 but I still had a place to work. When your livelyhood goes that would make it extremely tough.

WOW, sad news indeed,
Hopefully Jeff can regroup and get things back on track after this tragedy, this is the last thing any one would need, especially during your bread and butter time of year, and dam cold weather at that. I hope the area understands his loss and pain with this. Best of times to you with this horrible event.

Jeff has been keeping me uptodate the past couple weeks and said he has stayed on a pretty good crappie bite as of late.  Red glow tick jigs on a set line with crappie minnow has been doing the job.

He is also thinking about having a crappie contest either this weekend or next if anyone is interested give him a call.  Unfortunatly I am burried with tax season and won't be able to get up there.

I just found this thread thanks to OJ's post. I do not know Jeff, but this is certaintly a very devastating thing to happen to him and his livlihood.  :(

Scott, how is Jeff doing and is there anything at this late stage that he needs? Is he rebuilding or what are his plans moving forward?

I will be keeping Jeff in my thoughts and prayers. If there is anything that we can do to help, please keep us posted.

Thanks Scott  :)

Haven't heard from him in a while since that last post of mine.  Will find some time and give a call up there and see.
