The plan was to meet at the land at 9.  I arrived early and stopped at the edge of deadeyes new addition to the land.  It is a beautiful piece of land.  The field was to wet to drive across so I waited and shortly deadeye arrived.  We took the quads across the field.  There was standing water on top of the hill.  We could only clear the trails on the high ground due to the rain that had fallen in the last week.  It was a great day to be outside.  sunny with a light cool breeze.  Only a few mosquitoes.  We hooked up the brush mower and headed out.  When we stopped at the first trail deadeye gave the rope a pull and the recoil broke. :bonk:  After a quick repair job we were on our way.  After a few hours we stopped for lunch.  venison cheddar brats on the grill.  After lunch it sure was tough to get back at it.  We hit the trails until 3 when I had to leave.  I did climb one of the deer stands and get a picture of deadeye mowing the trail.  It was fun getting out to his piece of heaven.

We did find a "Chicken of the Woods"  I have never eaten one before so I was a little worried.  I checked with a neighbor of mine and he said they are great and he offered to help me prepare it at HIS house.  I think it has been a couple of years since he has had any and really wants to eat some of it. He is in his 80's and doesn't get out to much.  We have planned on Monday night.

Yes a good time was had by all.  Clearing trails is always a hit and miss affair.  Although this year we didn't have a lot of downed trees to contend with, the wet weather left some water problems and lots of green under growth.  Every body finished the day tired but happy.  I did manage to set out a couple cameras.
