Yesterday I went fishing and what a grand day it was.  Lots of fish, best weather ever and a great preview of fall colors to come.  Not to mention a 36 inch 14 pound northern to boot.  AAAAHHHH it's great to be retired.

Wish I was there. Great photos & nice fish. Quick question for ya. What's up with the pipes around the cockpit area?

They are also used to strap yourself to the boat when fighting a big fish.  A couple years ago I bought this boat used from a private party.  His wife had a handicap and he installed this piping for a grab bar so she could more easily board the boat.  At first I though I would remove it but it kind of grew on me and now I like it.  It serves many uses.  How many times did you wish you had something to grab on to when things go wrong?  Also, no one fishes near me because they think I'm the DNR.

Not really that bad of an idea at all, the older I get the smaller the boat seems to get and my balance is not what it used to be. Throw in sore knees and some wind and waves and it can get interesting. Would make a good place to mount a few spot lights and a place for a video camera... Jeeze now ya got me thinking !

Well, now I'm glad I asked. Borgie thought it was for gymnastics.
