Luckily we are in a zone where we don't have to apply for one.
I feel like the population is still very low where we hunt, so I am surprised.
I will probably shoot a doe with my bow early in the season, and then just party hunt with the crew for gun season.
We will see what happens and what I see though.

our group went 0 for 6 
The kids will be the only ones to shoot their does.  So we will still have a good chance at fresh back straps on sat night.

no joy.

but we have 3 kids with us.. and they can still shoot either. so one of them will drop one.
