Snake it. Or try one of those expanding things that you attach to a garden hose.

If it's a surface clog use a zip it-drain tool.  Menards has them.  They make a hand one that works great and it's only a couple of bucks.

:sorry: to hear about your drain. The best thing I ever used was a commercial grade drain cleaner that comes in a gallon jug. Use plenty of caution just the fumes alone will make your skin itch. After pouring into the drain cover with a bucket because it can spit back at you. It's dynamite!

Otherwise if you want to get cleaned out twice as fast call a union Plummer He will clean out your drain and your wallet. :rotflmao:

Are you talking the main house drain in the basement floor where the tree empties in to? Chemicals are pretty much for grease clogs in the smaller drains that enter the tree. Dakids idea might work if you are lucky, you can buy them at Menards or a hardware store for under ten bucks. If the drain has not been cleaned that you can remember it very well might be time to have it done with a snake which you can rent or schedule a plumber. City line? clogged, or slow draining? FYI plumbers don't like working on drains that have had chemicals dumped into them. This falls under a been there done that many times as I was a care taker for many years. Hope it is the easy fix for ya

Chemicals also eat the plumbing. You probably have a trap to deal with so expect that right away. But make sure you consult a union plumber before you take scab advice. You do not want to take food from a the mouth of a union brothers child.
