We've all been bitchin bout da gas prices for years. It's been an unfavorable topic of discussion for what seems to have been an eternity. Now that we are reaping the benefits of lower gas prices not a peep.

The price of regular in my town Elk Grove, IL as of today is $2.17 for regular. What y'all paying in what towns?

so do we big shooter. Maybe the prices are so low because them oil refineries like all that good work them union thugs do in there. Always on time under budget and done safely. Heck even the koch brothers want us back.

Gas price has been falling daily. $2.12 here today. I can't wait till June.

Gas prices below $2 in region

FARGO — For holiday travelers in the region, Santa has delivered a nice present.


In many cities along the major interstates, gas prices are below $2 a gallon or really close.


The lowest price in the region found was in Sioux Falls, S.D., where gas was as low as $1.89 for a gallon of regular gasoline. Sioux Falls has been hovering around the $2 mark for at least the past two weeks.

Twin Cities stations also were reporting gas below $2 at some stations, according to www.gasbuddy.com. The lowest price spotted was $1.94 at a station in Champlin, although some stations such as Costco and Sam’s Club were also at $1.94 but it takes a membership to get that price.

In Alexandria, Minn., in central Minnesota along Interstate 94, there were 13 stations listed with gas at $1.99.

In some other Minnesota cities, the lowest prices found were $2.17 in Bemidji, $2.19 in Marshall, and $2.07 in Duluth.

In North Dakota, many Fargo stations were at about $2.10 a gallon, with the lowest at $2.09.

However, traveling farther west along Interstate 94 the price jumped substantially with the lowest price listed in Bismarck at $2.49.

Nationally, the average price is $2.31, compared to last year’s $3.25 a gallon, according to the website.

That was pretty tame response.  That tax would equal another 750 dollars a year for me.  They can go to hell.

I know Cody posted what he read/heard correctly about removing the 30 cent gas tax and replacing it with a mileage tax.  But me knowing what I know about government that didn't seem right.  I'm thinking to myself no government ever seems to get rid of a tax once they have it and I was right.  The Democrats want to keep the 30 cent tax and add on the mileage tax.  I'm not saying any one party is better than the other as they both seem to keep growing government, but come on people wake up and stop voting for the democrats. Isn't giving half of the money I make back to the government enough?

All the taxes I pay each year add up to a nice new car.  I could buy a new car, EVERY YEAR!  Except I cant.... so I keep driving my 12 year old SUV.
The government sees that gas is cheap, so they will try to add a tax to it, because since prices are low now, the tax wont hurt as much, but when they keep adding and adding, the real price for gasoline would be about $1.70/gal if not for all the taxes.  We pay 46.5c of tax for each gallon of gas....

that's what irritates me about democrats. why should someone who has no will to work get the cash that the government takes from me? why should they get to sit at home and get free money, when I have to work 2 full time jobs in the fall at roughly 90-100 hours a week to get by while im in school and still have to pay for school out of my own pocket. while those individuals get school completely free. then have said government give me the finger when it comes to grants and such because I make to much money as a "individual". so I get punished for working hard for what I want in life.

  It used to  be called Socialism.  The term soured to some extent so Progressive is the new description of your dilemma.  It doesn't work.  It never has.  It does however spell a windfall for those that can work their way to the top of the pyramid.
