Ice fishing get away

So my wife has been giving me a bad time for taking all these i fishing trips (2 so far) and not taking her.  So i think im gonna plan one for just me and her.  What would be your suggestion on a good lake and time of year.  I would be renting a house said lake so i dont have to bother with pulling a permy any were.

Take her to Eelpout Festival!   Always a lot of fun, other things to do, Walker is a great little town... Reed's and Xmas point for shopping...Jimmy's for breakfast or the Outdoorsman.  Might have a hard time renting a shack this late though...

I like Corny's idea. Also Upper Red Lake is tough to beat. Late in the season would be a good time. I was up there for St. Patricks Day one year and the bars were a lot of fun too - (might be too late to keep a walleye though).

My suggestion would be to give cookie a call and head to red.  Took the wife up there last year for Valentines and she had a blast.  We were with Boar and his wife and two other couples.

Red is a good call, we had blast. I cranked down next to G and after awhile i hear this Boom boom boom eoeoe boom boom boom and i walk over to Gs and here their having a rave in the ice house.just couldnt figure out who i could gind againts so i choked a walked back to my stuffy old freinds who came with me and my wife who arnt my freinds anymore cause they wont grind. We caught fish and fillete them at Jrs and for five bucks they cooked them with fries.and ya sit back and watch an epsiode straight outa dileverence. So yeah red is awsome!

how is the bite on red typically mid February?  Really want to get the wife on some fish  ... valentines weekend sounds like a good idea  I hate valentines day.  Dont see why anyone wants flowers that just die in a couple days

It was a little slower but we all caught fish.

the best time to be fishing stnzmts is right now, thing will slowing up after mid feb. but if you want some good late season action, LOW is awsome late mearch into april, Aarnessons is who'd i be calling.
