Under ice beaver trapping

I finally got the 1st beaver of the winter.  A very nice 50 pounder.  Only had 2 snares out.  I connected with this one and the other bait pole was chewed off right below the ice.  Im using old snares that have been used a few different times so they are a little slow.  I will be ordering 3 or 4 dozen this week.  Planning on heading north in 2 weeks and hitting it hard for 3 weeks ends.  I have 10 lodges scoped out and they will get my full attention.  My goal is 20 beavers.

My neighbor just sold his take for 14 apiece. Lots of work for that price. He did make some on the castor.

After skinning I remove the head and freeze the carcass for bear bait.

I'm addicted to beaver already.  Got the fever real bad.  I like them all. Big or small, I don't care.
