I got one hook and line that I need to send to DDS YET for the contest. guess my cell phone pic didn't cut the mustard.

that bad boy came from millacs. only pike 2 guys seen all day.

Thats for sure it wont get netted>>>Its a dead fish.I wonder how many skis were speared??Walleyes? OOPs they say I thought it was a legal fish! Spear em net em hook & line em their all gone! and whats left is poor fishin.

yep. and I don't feel one bit guilty either!!!!!!!! I have taken 1 fish out of that lake in 10 years compared to all the news report of netted fish they don't want dumped in the woods.

Very true glenn,most likely if that fish was netted she wouldn't make it to shore,why risk exceeding their quota with a junk fish? we have video's of the netters dumping what looked like pike over board pulling nets,it was obvious the fish were dead and life less,locals said because the water is so cold after ice out these fish sink,then 3-4 weeks later when the water warms they float up and drift to shore stinking up the beaches ans awaste of a nice pike or musky,bad deal!

Most of these tribes from wisc have a 1200-1800lb pike quota,walleye quota's are around the 25k lb range,however if the tribe co's are doing their job (which we observed is very little with video to prove) and count/record pike coming in,once said tribe hits their pike quota all gill netting is stopped for that tribe regardless where their walleye count is,so you see that's why we have these dump sites or pike that don't make it to shore,its a shame and these folks are irresponsible and could careless.

Sounds to me the Pike quota needs to be raised same with smallmouth (if their even is one).  Didn't lee just put up a post how those fish are part of the problem?  If the netting is going to go on anyway take those fish that ruin the walleye and perch population.  Those 2 fish are what makes that community survive.

I think if they want the pike numbers down open the season on pike year round, Lake of the woods gets pounded by trophy pike hunters from mid march til ice out, spending tens of thousands of dollars at resorts, and all of them come from the cities. I mean really why not just open the pike season on milacs year round for experimetal reasons, you will see a huge influx of people chasing flags and spending money, taking out big mouths that are part of the problem so say.

Hey if that works I'd be for it.  However low and those resorts would be a ghost town if it wasn't for walleye fishermen plain and simple.  Not saying people,don't go up to chase a pike but not enough for people to make a living.
