  I don't have any skin in this game.  I just found this article interesting.  I have not purchased a deer lic. for a couple of years.  I love venison which was the only reason I hunted them.  In the last two seasons I hunted there was an open season on does and 5 bonus tags for antlerless deer.  Personally I would rather hunt ducks or fish that time of year.  Especially if I used to see deer while hunting or find tracks while scouting.  I quit when both became rare after the onslaught.  I don't know if this is the reason but it does sound like a reasonable explanation.

i can see this happening. i would bet it was only 5 or 6 people involved at most otherwise word would have gotten out sooner. i have heard though that loggers are most interested in pulp wood right now as there is some soap they are making in Japan.
