I only get crazy about morels. Last year i tried chicken of the woods. It was ok but not great. I dont like puffballs. Would like to try hen of the woods. Also interested in trying chaga and make tee with it.

What are your favorites dew2 ?

Morels are great but not our favorite, chickens are good hens OK Fall when the meadow mushrooms pop are our favorite and we have a few spots and load up on them and chantrals when we find them.We tried many and now just stick to what we like best,Altho along the way to find our favs (chantral and meadow) we take what we find. The Mn river valley above flood level is some fine shroomin hills! If your close to any river valley try it but stay above flood levels.Shaggy and lions mane are real good and are plentyful

I knew a couple that would go over near Park Rapids from Bismarck every Labor day to pick Chantrells, gave me a bag once they were great!  Alway have wanted to learn how to pick some of the other edibles other than Morels.

Had venison steaks covered in morel mushrooms for supper tonight.  I found 2 more packages of shrooms in the back of the freezer that I didn't know I had.  Lucky me.

Probably will be a while yet this year.  Lower wet areas still have frost down a foot or so.
