I think that just might be 2 different deer.  The one on the bottom is actually a 9 pointer.  He's got a crab claw on the end of his left main beam and if you zoom in you can see the tips of his brow tines curve outward just a tad.  I can't see a crab claw on the left beam of the top picture (could be the angle) and it seems the tips of his brow tines point slightly inward.  One more feature I notice that's different is the G3 on his right antler.  It crosses over and points inside of his G2 on the top pic but clearly is outside of the G2 on the bottom pic.

I think you have a couple of nice 8's.  Not just 1.

Could almost get him with a bayonet.  Nice.

I noticed I had a bit of a dyslexic moment when I made my earlier reply.  The second picture the deer has a crab claw on his RIGHT main beam, not the left.

Upon further review, I believe you are correct.  These are different deer.  Points on the left antler are different and the white area on the nose is wider on one than the other.
