Ok I admit it.  I have an addiction...a serious addiction...to trail cameras.  Laugh all you want but it isn't funny.  I've now got 17 of them.  I just can't stop.  I see them on a clearance rack and I just have to buy them because I simply cannot get enough.  I have this insatiable desire to know where every single deer on the property is at all times, to give them nicknames, and then decide which one I'm going to eat.

As is true with most other expensive and time consuming addictions such as fishing, duck hunting and golf, simply having more doesn't really seem to satisfy the appetite.  You have to change things up.  At first, this is simply a matter of moving cameras around and getting pictures from new locations but after a while that doesn't alleviate the addiction either.  So now I'm graduating from just taking pictures to taking video.  This is going to get even more expensive since video sucks down batteries way more than simply snapping a few pictures, and once you get footage like I have below, you get hooked pretty bad.

Wasn't sure how to post videos on here so I published these to my Youtube channel.

I have a feeling I may not be alone with this addiction.  I strongly suspect deadeye of having the same problem.

How cool is this?

Way cool videos.  Yes, I do believe you have an addiction to trail cameras.  I must admit that at this point, I can deny having this affliction.  I have three cameras and removed them all over a week ago.  I usually put them out around the first of September and remove them a couple weeks before rifle season.  By moving the cameras several times during the 6 weeks of use, I get a pretty good idea of just what is out there.  No need to know exactly where every deer hangs out because they often change locations throughout the fall.  Once I know there are nice bucks around, that's usually enough for me.  I don't get hung up on hunting one area because a nice buck showed up on camera a few times.  To illustrate my point, this year I plan to open the rifle season in a stand that is more than 1/2 mile from where I had the nearest trail camera.   I don't know if there are support groups for people addicted like Onin24Eagle, but, it's not the worst addition a guy could have.  With that said, I have been looking at getting another camera with "plot/field watch" feature.   :dancinred:

Hi, my name is DaKids and I'm an addict.  At my high point I had 12 cameras. To help my addiction I tried to get great pictures. I started looking at the background and tried to manipulate the animal into a certain position. I used my own urine which worked the best. Try gutpile pictures. Good luck and if you need a sponsor, I'm hear for you.
