The wife and I mixed up a new batch of white grape tonight.  6 gallons are starting to ferment and in a couple months we will bottle it up.

Very nice.  We did a test batch of homemade apple sauce (no prservatives) and brown sugar.  It turned out GREAT so we now have a 6 gallon batch in a bucket just like yours.

When are you going to take up moonshine?  I'm hoping someone around here starts it up so we can set up a swap meet :happy1:

I'll talk to my brother and see what he thinks.
Our apple brown sugar came in at 18 proof.
Black berry was nice  and smooth but the pomegranate was a very good surprise.  Nice color and great flavor.

The last batch we did was white grape raspberry and have about 6 bottles of that left.  I'll keep one as I see an MNO taste test sometime this summer ;)

The first batch we ever did was an apple blueberry.  It was ok for a beginner but wasn't what I would call clear.  I still have the recipe and might give it a try again.

My first was high bush cranberry and it wasn't very good.  Maybe it will improve with age.

Raspberry mango was a big surprise and didn't last long.

When you're making wine do you use a bakers yeast or a wine yeast?  If you're using bakers yeast the max alc % you can get is around 14.  If you use wine yeast 18% in the top.

Had a uncle who shined,Grandad bootlegged,The ole girl is OK'd me to build a pot as soon as the next neck surgery is done.I should be building it over winter or next spring. If the law is the same as in the 60s when I helped the uncle move that pot many times! It was a person can distill the max of 2 gallons per year for personal use. I plan on a small 5-6 gallon still pot. The style I havent decided on yet.Use a thumper or not? is where I have to think about it yet,Maybe try a straight run and see if a thumper is necessary for small 1 gallon product output??
