The last black Friday sale, there were kayaks on sale. As mama and me did our shopping around town, we saw several of these in the backs of trucks. Not thinking much of it....When we got home, mama threw me a curve ball and said out of the blue, that she would really like to try it out. By the time we discussed the proposition, they were sold out. This week, they went on sale, and I  pulled the trigger! As soon as the water warms up, we will be trying these babies out!

I got them registered. But I can't find anywhere where it says you have to put numbers on them.

Lots of complaints to the DNR from yak owners about that!! The sticker goes on the bow each side. The Polypropalene is oily and to get them to stick was hard!
I sanded each side where the sticker goes,Then did alcohol rub and guickly applied the stickers then used clear 3m tape GOOD STUFF to keep em in place. The second sticker when these expire has to be done the same with the first removed.
The DNR had for years been telling  yak owners to bolt on a backer for the sticker! That seems stupid cause sealing polypropalene is a witch.

The placement if you want to verify is in the Minnesota Boating guide booklet

Yup, I found the part about the DNR registration stickers. But, nothing about the registration numbers....like the 2 inch numbers you have to put on a regular boat.

No numbers needed just a sticker.

Have you given any thought to adding rod holders for trolling?

Fishing out of them has been discussed.  But, I think we'll have to practice a bit first to see if we can stay upright!

Welp, back to the store.....I found out by Google, I need denatured alcohol to prep the surface after sanding to make the registration stickers stick.  :bonk:

OOPS I should have been more spacific on the alcohol!
I had a chuckle when you mentioned ya got to try it before fishin out of one! Their 3 times more stable than a canoe cause the center of gravity is so low in the water.I cant tip mine unless I try. Its a 9ft 6 inch yak,I bought a skirt to learn the Eskimo roll and thats when I realized their hard to capsize.
Mine I use lots for skinny water, creeks, streams and especially the ?? Mind fart trout stream south of ParkRapids The straight river with spinning gear and a flyrod.Cant fish with the skirt tho, Once you get in it youll see what I mean! few minutes of experience and you'll go WOW i can use this anywhere!!!
Heres a pic of mine that was easy to find,I got better ones somewhere,Next to my right leg you can see the extra tape I used to hold the sticker on ( I go through lots a weeds, cattails and junk)
