Dat G&T was stirred. Never had one shaken that I remember altho I have fallen on my behind a few times afterwards. Dat shook me up a little. Actually the lamburger last nite was a taste test. We had a buck & a ewe lamb born late last year that didn't fit into our plans. The ewe lamb went to another customer and someone wanted a half a lamb so we split the buck lamb with them. It was an uncastrated buck lamb but pretty young in the overall scheme of things. I'm always a little gun shy about those. If they go too long the meat can become tainted. Not the case here. Bronco Billy as I called him tasted just fine! 😋

Well never had lamb burger but you got my intrest, so I'm on my way to St. Joe's meats to pick up a lbs for the grill tonight.  Any seasoning suggestions? 😋

I usually just season mine with the same commercial hamburger seasoning I have in the cupboard altho I change it up from time to time. If you want to taste the more subtle nuances of lamb vs. beef, Cavenders is a nice place to start. Lamb melds well with curry powder, some garlic salt & pepper as well. Simple but effective. Smokehouse Maple is another one of my faves altho the wife doesn't like that one. Too sweet for her tastes. Garlic & Herb is another old standy. Sometimes Swiss or provolone find their way atop the burgers too. Sumbitch! Stomach's growling. It's getting close to lunch... :hubba:

Well, I'll have to say for my first time lamb was darn good.  Did it on the charcoal grill, toasted buns, cheese, bacon and a touch of Montreal steak on it and it was great. Even the wife thought it was good! 😋

I was a little concerned that you might not have a good experience. Quality and flavor can be variable from some retail outlets. A meat market > a grocery store chain. The place you got it from must have a line on the "good stuff". You did it up right too. The charcoal grill is a great way to go. It's the only way I do lamburger aside from in basketti sauce. Your add-ons were perfect companions. I think the McCormick Montreal Steak & the McCormick hamburger seasoning taste similar, only the hamburger seasoning is ground a little finer. They'll both work as you point out.  👍

Ah the lowly brats last nite. Was in a quandry as to what would work as leftovers thru this upcoming rainy spell so grabbed some steak brats & teriyaki pineapple brats at the meat market. Toss in some beans, green beans, CC & ta da! Supper is served along with several Nolet's & tonics. Dutch gin kinda grows on a guy after a while. Had to be careful so I wasn't taken advantage of. It's Lent ya know... :embarrassed:

I played dead & after pawing me a few times, the she-bear left me alone. Saw it on Wild Kingdom one time. The steak brats looked intriguing.  Lessee, brats are good, steak is good so what's not to like?  :scratch: I'd had the teriyaki pineapple before so the one on the plate is a steak brat. Very little filler with a finer grind than their other brats. They seared nicely & didn't shrink from the casing when they cooled down. Meaty, nice seasoning blend, sort of an old fashioned wiener on steroids. I'd get them again.  :coffee:

Could be but I used to think egg roll brats were exclusive to Morgan's but I know of at least 2 others making them now. Morgan's egg roll brats are still the best but they're always out when we go there.  :confused:

how about Philly cheesesteak in a bratwurst Glenn  and when other shops hear about a good brat somewhere else they try to make it too..  just like dill pickle brats

Yep had some Philly cheesesteak brats from plantenbergs in Richmond  pretty good .

Haven't seenvan egg roll brat yet.

When it comes to bratscand sausage I am pretty picky, no mass produced crap like Johnsonville,  gotta be little hometown butcher shops.

For some dumb azz reason Teals quit making there own stuff and farmed it out to Maneas with supposedly Mike the meat managers recipes... yea it ain't andvit sucks now!

I've had some Philly brats & some Prime Rib brats from S & S Meats in GR that my sister picked up last summer. They were both good, but I liked the Philly better. :happy1:

Since your on the topic. I stopped by the new Milaca meat market that just open about two weeks ago. It looks like they got some good stuff but they might have to work on their pricing a bit.  Their packs of 6 brats were up around $15 bucks! 😳
I'll probably keep going to St. Joe's thanks.
