Mornin' gang! 60 at choretime heading for a high in the low 80's. Was a decent chance of rain in the forecast for today but they pushed that back until tomorrow. Doesn't sound like it'll amount to much. Lotsa combining yesterday. Gradually these green stemmed beans are coming around. More soil sampling on the slate for today. Waiting for the Stude to get done. Mechanic found some interesting stuff. Showed me where the ngine appears to have been overhauled once which should be a plus with 90,000 miles on it. Rear main seal was pretty brittle. Also noticed a restriction where someone had snapped off a pipe inside the exhaust pipe where it came off the crossover pipe. Someone made several attempts to get it out and apparently gave up. Likely caused some unnecessary backpressure. Should give the car a little more snap with it out of there. Didn't seem to have the same pep I recall from the Stude 259's I rode in back in the day. Might improve the mileage some as well.

It's just skirting us off to the west. We've had some sprinkles but that's about it.

Wedder maps are Fake news, set up by fake weather people, to show their alleged predicted weather that they have little to no clue about in any way. Watch the barometer, temp gauge, and wind direction, and you'll do far better than the wedder morjits and their fake maps.   :bonk:

With all the bacon, and the meat, doesn't it flare-up a lot from the grease?

Morning boys. 60 and heading for 70 today. We got .04" of rain yesterday evening. Just enough to wet the ground. We will load up the wheelers and head out to da forest after work today. Maybe even chase a grouse or 2 while we are down there. Looking forward to it. Really like spending time down there. Well, just another day in the salt mines. Have a good one boys.

An early morning fellow comrades. 59* and a beautiful sunrise. Wedder morjits screaming T-storms and rain today. My barometer, west wind, and the sunrise tell me not today...but what do they know? Was up at 4:30 for some reason, had some letters to write this after big meeting last nite. Maybe be on the hunt for some pigger chops today; no one has them on sale, but my freezer needs them...I can still get a few pks crammed in there. Got some thick CSR's to smoke nd BBQ tomorrow or sunday, depending when they get thawed out. Other than that, puttering mayhap be the key word for today...with the exception of my prune the suckers off the crabby-appleton tree. Have a good Friday, all.

Mornin' gang! 60 at choretime heading for a high in the low 80's, again. .01" of rain fell at the ranch about 3 a.m. with nada in Bugtussle. Places 50-60 miles west received up to 4". Slight chances of rain over the next several days. Could use a break from harvest but will probably have to settle for cooler temps. Been hot the past couple days soil sampling. Wore my shorts 2 days ago & punted yesterday thinking it was going to cloud up. It didn't so will put 'em back on today again if that's the way it's gonna be about it. 😕

Morning boys.  My wife had my Five Wishes thing on my desk to fill this morning.  May kind of an emotional way to start the day but pretty much got er done.  Well I started digging my trench for the coax to the garage around 9 yesterday.  75'.  Didn't hit the elec coming into the house or the garage so that was good news.  Got is all hooked up by noon.  Then my siesta and back filled in the afternoon.  Used my snow plow truck to back blade it.  Worked great.  Got to hit the grocery store today.  Kept one 18.5" walleye last night.  That will be lunch.  I checked its stomach and was completely empty.  ????  Heard a buddy the other day say the same about a nice one he kept.  You would think they would be gorged with shiners.  Lots of little saugers to small to even keep too.  Gonna mow after the lawn dries.  Real wet this morning but I don't think we got any rain last night.  Well youse all have a great day?

Not much rain here. My son and I plan to go bow hunting this afternoon. Might have to fight the rain but who knows.  I suspect the bucks will be laying low but you never know if you aren't out there.  We got all the hide boxes ready to go out for the MDHA "Hides for Habitat" program. Remember to donate your deer hides to the MDHA hides for habitat program.  Make sure it's an MDHA box and not someone with a lookalike box.  Most boxes will not go out until late October because early hides are not usable.

Saw some mouse poop on the back ledge of my weber grill on the deck last week, figger they were getting at the grease drip pan. So, set 4 traps around it. Next day, caught a white-footed deer mouse. Figger Im gonna get rid of them tick-carrying bastids, so reset all 4 along house wall where it meets deck. Checked this am.....and WTH?! All traps gone; one was out in yard, looked at it, had a tuft of long black whiskers in it......hmmm....DAMNED SKWIRRELS!!!!!!!!!! Other three still missing. Hope those miserable tree rats got 'em snapped on their friggin' nozzles!
