Good morning, what a beautiful days it's going to be, my apologies to eveyone who is in the middle of the snow storm. It's going to be 78 and sunny here in the burgh. I don't know how the pens are going to be playing outside tomorrow but they say it's not going to be a problem. Well it's 3:30 and time to go let the milk man in then go to the golf show later today to replenish the balls, tees and a couple of gloves. Y'all have a great day
if you kick me when I'm down you better pray I don't get up.

Smucked!!! And still roaring down. I see at least 10" piled on deck rail, and power/cable lines/trees sagging WAAAY down. NOT good! Had thundersnow and lots of lightning at 10:30 last nite. Has been a wet snow, bad deal. Chainlink fence is solid, holes are all plugged up with snow. That's a first. Wind is now picking up.  I'll get pics outs after the devastation ends. 27* right now, and I need a LOT of cawfee..... :undecided:

As wcco is on tv I have been wondering how you are faring down there Rebs.  Now I know.  We have a surprising 3 degrees here but no snow.  Glad I started the wood stove in the garage last night.  Will be 65-70 in there this morning.  Man that feels good to get in a warm truck.  Well TGIF although I have to work tomorrow.  My turn again.  Man time is going fast.

Morning fellers. I had 5* this morning and lots of stars out. Like LPS said no snow for us. The water on top the ice should be getting hard again with these temps. We plan to cut our last 6 cord of wood tomorrow, but now found out there skidder broke down. won't know until tonight if we can go cut tomorrow. Was hoping to fish on Sunday, now all the plans are up in the air. Have a good day all.
Hey look your bobber is up!

It looks like our ol friend Rebs may need a chiropractor or a NL for a massage after the snow they got down there.  It looks like it just kept on snowing in his neck of the woods.  I bet he is sore as heck after dealing with that.  Hopefully he hired a neighbor kid to help.  We have 1.9 here today.  I am glad it will at least get into the 20's.  Even though it is still making ice I am not putting my fish house back on the river.  We had 7 young deer munching on dogwood in our yard last night before dark.  The dogs were watching them out the window.  How fun....   They hung around for an hour in and out of the woods.  I have been wondering if I should get them some oats and put it out in the spruces away from the house.  Most of the stuff I read says just leave them alone.  ????  Any ideas are welcome.

Not sure if I'm alive. Such bad spinal back and leg pains, plus the pain from the RA, is about killin' me. Pain pills don't touch that stuff. Enough whining. Yesterday:
I measured 13" here at 6:00 am with plenty more coming down.. My big blower would just plug up with this crap...not soggy wet, but hard compacted stuff. Never in the 25 years I've lived here have I seen anything like this. Blower would go a foot; then augers were encased in solid hard snow, so it wouldn't cut. It's the big MTD. Handles anything. Not this shi**, though. Started in at 7:00 am, got done THREE HOURS later just to do driveway and sidewalk. Incredulous. I finally gave up. Neighbor actually blew head gasket on his 8 HP, and other neighbors carb pouring out gas. Mines the only one running on the block.  Just a tad of gas left. Sucking it down like a 409. The small blowers the other neighbors have won't even touch this stuff. Three cars buried and stuck up at the corner. The  plow finally went by at 1:00 PM Friggin' end of driveway was BURIED.  Me and two neighbors worked at it 45 mns to clear it, then since his blower blew a crank seal, went and did HIS driveway, AND the neighbor ladies across the street he WAS supposed to do until his blower blew, Used mine to do all three. Both of us working steady at breaking snow down with shovel (three feet high and rock hard) until we finished up at 3:45 PM. Five hours of snow blowing...then I went and raked 3' snow all around roof with buddy's help. That took 1 1/2 hours. I don't know when to quit. Dripping wet with sweat.  Came in house at 5:30 PM. Legs honestly gave out. I'm dead. My poor blower got the pee worked outta it. Three tanks of gas!!!!!! This $#@! sucks. Another 3" over nite. Gotta do it all over again. I wanna move.

Dew, I always spray it when I go out. Pure silicone. Been doing that for 20 years.  Was just sprayed. That wasn't the issue..the snow was actually compacting on itself, that's why I said I've never seen anything like this in all of my years of snowblowing. After three feet of blowing, looked like a solid cylinder of snow rotating inside of blower housing, couldn't even see the auger blades! Try to knock it out with wood pole? Nope! Actually had to use an ice chopper to BUST/Slice it off the augers! Three guys at end of the block...one with a huge John Deere, another with an Ariens, and one with an MTD like mine...same thing. WE talked about it for quite a bit, and we were all trying to bust the snow "drums" out of our augers. Someone shoulda shot a video of it. No one had ever seen that happen. I can't believe it did!

Reb, we had the same thing happening at mom's, it kept stickin to the auger blades. We had 8" there in the morning & maybe a couple more later. Didn't get to the Dr, rescheduled for next Friday. Got back here about noon yesterday & only had 2-3". We have 24 now goin for low 30's. It sounds like it will be in the low 40's to start the week for us, so all the snow should be gone by Wed. Have good 1
